Maggiano's Little Italy

I initially asked the waitress for a suggestion on the menu of something Maggiano's does differently than any other Italian restaurants and was met with confusion. She mentioned that there wasn't really anything different, the menu is mostly the same Italian favorites just "better". That was followed by a pasta and chicken recommendation claimed to be slightly different from the classic creamy sauce I might expect. Instead what arrived nearly 45 minutes later was cold chicken and mushrooms in a nearly boiling sauce, with pasta that had been obviously sitting out for a while. I mentioned this to the waitress and to her credit she had a fresh one made for me. Oddly this one took less than 10 minutes to arrive. The food itself was nothing special, and nothing on the menu caught my eye except the prices. If this restaurant claims to be Italian classics but better they have a lot of expectations to meet for the prices they ask. My meal did not meet those expectations. To round out the experience a guest bumped against the fire alarm control panel and it took more than 15 minutes of the panel screeching before the manager was able to quell it's complaints. Nearly an hour and 45 minutes after I entered I was finally able to grab my coat and leave. For someone eating a simple dish alone I was rather displeased. Overall unimpressed with the food and the management.

Nice atmosphere and very good service. Food is always excellent. Good drink selections from the bar. Dessert menus has some great selections from cheese cake to chocolate cake and even lemon cookies. Nice place for a special occasion or just a good dinner. Definitely make reservations if going on a weekend as it stays busy all evening long.

Always great food and service. Excellent selection of different entrees, appetizers, and a huge drink selection. Lot's of different Italian selections to choose from, if you have a party, they have many family style options, with again an excellent selection. This place is not cheap, its on the higher end especially if alcoholic beverages are involved, but you are paying for a great, quality meal and exceptional service. You will not be disappointed.

The location is very convenient on Freedom drive immediately off of I-88. The decor is high end for an Italian style restaurant in the American Midwest. I arrived "late to the party" but the Maggiano's staff didn't miss a beat! The desk knew exactly where I needed to be and helped me get there quickly and simply. The food for our group was served buffet style but even an hour late it was both hot and appealing.

Every Maggiano's I go to, the wait staff seems so eager to please. I am always very happy with the service. We went with a group of 11 with 11 different tastes. Sometimes I am not into pasta and I make the best salad in the world so I won't like to order salad at restaurants. So, I ordered a collection of side dishes (garlic with everything under the sun) and enjoyed every bite. (My husband may not have enjoyed the ride home.)
