Ordered take out and enjoyed very fresh oceanside sushi! Friendly staff and great prices. Dine in experience was awesome as well when I came before. Preferred enjoying my sushi with the smell of saltwater in the air more though!
This is a small hidden sushi heaven!! It was busy, good service, a little slow, but the food was worth the wait! I'd say some of to the best sushi I've had in the city. They provide tea on your way out - it's a delicious drinkable "dessert". I'll be back again!!
This restaurant is magnificent. I really impressed both quality of the food and the service. Uni is really fresh without stinky smell. I love uni pasta and sushi is so good. We got free drink and the ending drink which is Yuzu tea. I highly recommend to come to this restaurant. But they have only limited seats.
I have been wanting to check out this place for a while and finally had a chance to! It is pretty small place around 5 tables total so it is always full and recommend reservations in advance. The service was great and the quality of the food was amazing! I do think it’s on the pricier end and may not feel worth for a lot of people , but people familiar with the fresh ingredients and imported fish would understand the pricing. The presentation on all the items were stunning. Overall a very nice treat and recommend trying at least once.
The restaurant is small, so if you are a bigger person you may have trouble moving around. Overall the atmosphere was cozy and lively. We were greeted promptly at the door and seated immediately since we had a reservation it's been a while, so they might not take reservations anymore. Service was on the slow side, though. Took almost half an hour for the food to come out. All the food look so colourful in the photos. It's definitely pretty. The sashimi bowl was fresh. The rolls were different. I'm not sure if this is normal, but one of them tasted quite bitter. I couldn't finish it, to be honest. They gave us complimentary yuzu tea at the end of our meal, which was quite nice. Given the price point, I don't think I would come back for the sushi. The table next to us had pasta and I'd like to try that instead.
Moltan Cute little sushi spot. Nice touches we noticed... I liked that they serve the sushi with real wasabi. When we left they gave us tea in to go cups. I didn't ask, didn't know it was a thing, our server just brought it to the table. Pro tip: Call ahead for reservations as they are have a very small space The listing is name of item, pricing, then star rating out of 5 Moltans super kaisendon 65 4.5 stars I was hoping for better presentation. Generally it's a good deal, but the pictures I had seen online was a bit better than what we received for the otoro Black salmon battera 15 4 stars Flavors were very good, slightly muted. A touch of salt would bring out the truffle flavor more, but you can use the soy sauce to help it won't be as clean as just salt that as well. White kumo 18 4 stars If you're hungry this is a good one. It's large and full of things. The tempura softshell crab makes it hefty, but it just wasn't a roll for me. My other dining companions enjoyed it. Moltans nigiri set 30 4 stars The fish was fresh, but it was pretty standard nigiri. I was hoping for a stand out piece or two since it's chefs selection. The salmon toro might have been it but that might be my fault as I'm not a huge fan of it. Honestly the $90 ultimate sashimi looked like the best bang for your buck if you like higher end raw fish and you have at least 2 people. It comes with 4 pieces of each fish. We saw another table get it. Unfortunately we did not try it. Parking is street parking which can be difficult at times. However it was free street parking so that was good.
This small restaurant offers a variety of items on their menu, including raw fish, sushi rolls, and some cooked dishes. I came here with 2 other girls last night and chose a few things from different sections of the menu. The restaurant was quite busy when we were there, however our dishes came out in a timely manner, and everything was delicious and came beautifully presented. Also to mention, the miso soup which came free at the beginning of the meal was good too. It was actually hot and had a nice broth base. Our server the only server maintained good energy, and was very attentive and friendly. He checked up on us several times throughout our meal and our tea cups were consistently being refilled without having to ask. Although this place is a little bit on the pricier end for a small neighbourhood sushi restaurant; nonetheless, the fish is always fresh, portion is good, and friendly service. Oh, we also love the free yuzu tea they give you when you leave the restaurant—adds a nice touch! Reservation is recommended.
Absolutely Loved it! The quality more than met our high expectations. It was probably the best Uni I’ve had in my life, sweet and creamy. While the Otoro was as fresh and savoury as it could be. We also ordered the Hell’s Gate Maki and the size was ginormous, to our pleasant surprise, with a mouthful of fresh tuna on top. The service had been somewhat slow but probably because of a lack or staff. We appreciated the little attention from the server tho. Would definitely come back!
Great sushi fusion place with fresh ingredients. There were more uni/unagi/menus with gold flakes than other casual sushi places i've been. Hence, expect to pay a bit more for the good quality food you will be enjoying. I usually don't like Tuna bits, but I would have it here. I had their house special nigiri set, uni cream pasta, tako wasabi, and unagi oshi. I didn't like the unagi oshi as it had too much rice and little unagi. The place is small, so make sure you book a reservation.
Overall food tasted great, but overpriced for the little quantity they give. Do not order Moltan’s Sashimi, way too expensive for these types of fish did not even have o-toro. Service was immature. I asked the server what was on the moltan’s sashimi, she said depends on the chef, like duh I know, but you could ask the chef what is today’s catch, basically the fish in moltan’s $70 sashimi has all fish that you could order everyday individually, the server did not give me more information on that dish, I ordered anyways how am I suppose to know if I should order if I don’t know what’s in it? Bedsides, the server was forgetful and I had to take my own wasabi from the counter while she stood there looking around for I don’t know what. Would not go there again for the tight space and service they have.
