Story

No one can visit Mitchell without seeing the world's only Corn Palace. Established in 1892 and at its present location since 1921, the structure is stripped each year and decorated anew with murals formed by thousands of bushels of corn, grasses, grains and other products celebrating South Dakota's bounty. The Corn Palace is mentioned in the book, 1,000 Places to See in the USA and Canada Before You Die. At the Dakota Discovery Museum, see historic American Indian beadwork and quillwork. Stop by the nearby Cabela's, just minutes away. Then return to your comfortable campground with tent sites, Camping Cabins and RV sites up to 70 feet long. A pool, mini golf and bike rentals keep kids happy. After a stay here, you'll be rested and ready for the road.

This is the second time we have visited the Mitchell KOA in South Dakota and this time we really got a feel for the place. We really had a good time. We really enjoyed staying here. If I'd have known how much we were going to enjoy it and the people, I would have booked an extra night or two but alas we are on the road again; headed further west and going to miss the new friends that we have made in Mitchell. The place is spotless, the bathrooms are one of its best amenities. The pool is clean and cold just as you would want it and the staff are extremely helpful and diligent. I really enjoyed my stay here and my family enjoyed their stay here. This is the perfect place to bring your family. It's a great big campout for like-minded people.

The campground offers everything one needs for a day and night of relaxation. Grocery stores, restaurants, and other shops are close and convenient. Cabins are cozy and well ventilated. The owners are remodeling the bathrooms with exotic luxury for the ladies, and something more rustic for the men. This campground is an excellent stop for just relaxing for a day.

Very clean cabins and the bathrooms were immaculate. This was the perfect camping spot for our family of four. Wish we had planned to stay longer! It would be even more awesome if the playground was updated!

Owners are very friendly and accomadating. Women's restroom has been updated very nicely. All restrooms are clean and showers. Highly recommend this KOA.

Very accommodating staff, even let me borrow their tools to take care of a repair on our RV. Wifi was fast. Playground and put put were nice for the kids, but were in need up repair/updating. Good Verizon signal. 4 stars only because there is not really anything to do in Mitchell other than the corn palace.
