I've been to Mission a couple of times now for various different reasons and I've always found the staff to be very courteous and friendly.... They have a lot of knowledge and expertise in their areas and are genuine in their excitement of helping you get ready for your chosen sport. I will definitely return to Mission for all my Skateboard, Snowboard, and BMX services and products... thank you very much and thank you Blake for all your help and for your excellent attitude and candor....
Edit: Upon multiple revisits I have to say that the over all quality of the staff has improved. Still not my favourite but not bad at all. try to support smaller and local stores, but Mission left me with a bad taste in my mouth after 3 experiences. I called them regarding availability about a snowboard I was interested in, and the lady on the phone gave me all sorts of opinions on why I shouldn't get the board I specifically called about. I then visited in store and ran into her again, and I inquired about getting the same board ordered into the store in my size. After finding out they were going to charge me extra for shipping, I decided to go with another store in town who had free shipping on getting the board in store. She then passive aggressively told me that *once she asks her boss about a special order, you're kind of obligated to buy it, "but it's like, whatever I guess"*. That is ridiculous. Not to mention she followed me around the store like a hawk and kept on trying to "engage me", only to make me feel very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, my last experience was also terrible, as I was looking for a face mask and decided to give them one more try. Ran into the same lady salesperson who just lied about store inventory. Asked if all the face maskes were upstairs in the women's section, she said yup. Went down to the basement and there were probably 15 there. Also recommended a face mask that was "wind proof", guess what. It wasn't. And I can't return it because I tried it on at the ski hill. Maybe I should have just tried it on at the store while bringing in a wind machine. Between the rude salesgirl and the awful return policy, I see no reason to return.
Excellent Shop! I would recommend this place to anyone! They are very knowledgeable and friendly. They have a great Women's section for gear, outerwear and clothing. Also, go see them for any of your snowboard or back country gear.
I was really unimpressed with my last visit to mission on kensington last week. I usually always try to support my local business in banff but should they happen to not have what I want/need I usually go to mission. That will be the last time I will ever do so. The service I received from one of the staff was rude and full of attitude. I was dead set on a volcom jacket the staff at my local shop sold me on, but being right in between medium and large, I decided I could get away with a medium, but large probably would be a better fit. They didn't had a large so I called mission. Mission had only one large left so I purchase it over the phone on the Saturday night to ensure it would still be there on the Monday night when I stopped by. On Monday there was two staff working, a guy who was nice and helpful and a girl who was nothing short of snobby. when I came in the guy nicely got the jacket for me and helped out finding a piece of layer similar to what I would usually wear to try it on. She didn't got involved until she saw I was also looking for new pants, and then took over. I was pretty set on light purple pants. I didn't found anything that color but liked a pair of burgundy pants. They didn't fit well and I didn't saw anything else I really liked but somehow the lady staff kept bringing other pants and when I politely declined proceeded to keep on bringing more models and started to be pushy asking me rudely what was it I didn't liked about the pants she pulled out. Its not that there is something wrong with staff making suggestion based on something you tried, its the way she did it. It was aggressive and pushy despite me making it clear I had something in mind and I didn't saw anything in the store I liked that fitted what I was after. After trying the jacket I realize that large was indeed too large and medium would be better. I asked to return the large. She had a lot of attitude when she asked if I just wanted to exchange it for a medium. At this point I already had enough of feeling disrespected and judged and decided my money would go to a shop with more respectable staff so I said no and just wanted my money back. She rolled her eyes and made it very obvious she was clearly annoyed she was not gonna a commission on get that jacket even know she never was the one who sold me on it. She asked why I didn't just wanted to switch size so I made up some excuse about getting a local discount at another shop got my money and walked out. I wont be shopping there anymore. And at least it ended up good for me as ironically enough I did received a discount at the other shop I got the jacket at and was more than happy to give them my money as their staff was really helpful and nice.
Got all my gear from here, so happy with it! Most friendly staff, very knowledgeable and willing to help. They even kept open after hours to help me decide on my snowboarding boots.
Ken was amazing helping me find the exact long board I wanted, Abe was quick and professional helping me with any problems I had after the purchase. They went over and above what any other shop would have done. Thank you for everything guys!!
The ORIGINAL snowboard shop in YYC, Mission has always been one of the best places to shop for skate, snowboard and BMX gear. Amazing local staff, who have a passion in helping people get the best advice on gear, spots and mountains. Always known to be a friendly shop willing to provide help, advice and customer service.
Brought my son into Mission today after he broke a truck on his skateboard. Ben helped us out, going above and beyond to help him get a working board. I highly recommend Mission. My son left incredibly happy and will definitely be back in futrue
I wen't in to buy a pair of Electric Goggles, the service was excellent. Tara was super friendly and full of knowledge. One of my favourite shops in town.
The guys did an amazing job on waxing and edging my board. They provided me with same day service as well so I'm very glad I didn't go to Sport Chek.
