This company is run by crooks. Stay FAR AWAY. My boyfriend locked himself out of his car at about 8:45am on a Tuesday. He called Minute Locksmith and they quoted him 200$. He refused and they jumped down to 140$. He accepted only because he had work so soon. I was later informed (by anther locksmith!!!) that an honest (see: not a crook) locksmith charges 60$ for this service. On a side note: I see some extremely unprofessional responses from them regarding these reviews. Another red flag.

I do Not recommend this company! Go to your dealer instead, it will save you a lot of money. Minute locksmith Charges very high prices. I called them for a quote, which was a lie and ended up paying way more then what they said. Plus the key is bad quality

The service was "OK", This is the second time i called this company. We use locksmith services very frequently for all our buildings from another local larger company but they were busy this time. Tech came out when he said he would. The job was done satisfactory. The issue i have with the service was the amount of the invoice. He was onsite for 2.5 hours and my bill came to $632.50 with tax. This same work at another building cost around $380.00 with tax from one of the biggest lock smiths in the city. The only material minute locksmith used was two lock cylinders. I know how much a lock cylinder cost and i think these guys price gouge even if they are commercial grade, I told him our other service provider would never charge this and he said oh well you have the invoice. This will be the last time we use this company. This is also the First time i have every written a review, but i feel people need to know, Always ask for a quote. My thought is, If you charge a lot you need to be prepared and look and act like you are worth the money. The tech that showed up was equipped with CHEAP tools, and constantly searching for things. When it was time to write an invoice he couldn't find a pen so he borrowed mine. In hind site i should never of let him use it if i knew this large invoice came from it.

I did call on good Friday and the reason I chose this company was that your yelp page advertised free service calls to kitchener and waterloo. When the technician arrived he told me it would be $69 for the service fee and $99 for the service. When I refused he immediately changed the price to $110 which gives the impression that he's making up prices for himself. When I declined again he insisted I had to pay $69 still since he had showed up. I didn't feel comfortable arguing with a man that showed up in an unmarked van on the street at night so I did get my boyfriend. Your technician refused to leave and threatened to call the cops saying he knew where we lived and had my license plate. We told him to please call the police which he did not he just continued to remain on the property. I took him 5 minutes to get to where we were, $69 for no service performed is insane. You can't charge for a hidden fee I did not agree to prior to you arriving. Its the law that you honour your advertise prices. You can't change the price to $70 just because when you arrive. I didn't agree to that. The company also presumably looked me up on social media to find my boyfriends full name and leave me threatening messages after calling me 8 times. The price change iw illegal and I will be reporting you. You also can't send me to collections when I haven't even received a bill. You're using scare tactics to try to extract money for not doing any work. Also all your positive reviews are from the same time period and all from people who have made no other reviews on and other company. All your other reviews are overwhelming negative.

Honest review: they charged me $174 for a simple lock at one of the student rental apartment on Lester. The guy literally put two air wedge in my door and took him like 2 minutes to open, all he had to do was to pump some air into the air wedge. I could just replace the entire lock for way less but it was an emergency. The arrival is fast though and yeah no damage is made, but if you are on a student budget should reconsider.
