Miner's of Yakima is a family owned drive-in and sit-in restaurant, famous for their top quality burgers, milkshakes, fries, and more!
The FAMOUS MINER BURGER isn’t a hamburger that’s developed overnight! The Miner Burger has progressed into the fine burger that you know today because of family pride and loyal customers.
A feature at Miner’s is that the food is never cooked ahead. It is cooked on demand and FIXED THE WAY YOU LIKE IT! The Miner name on these quality sandwiches means they’ve strived over the years to produce the very best possible.
It all began in April 1948 when Ed Miner bought the old Pete Agor home and built the Miner’s Drive Inn. The original Drive Inn was run by Ed and Irene Miner with their son Lee and one employee. The Drive Inn opened its doors on April 9, 1948 (Lee’s 16th birthday). In 1952 Lee married Lois Jarvis and they have been working in the Drive Inn ever since.
Today, Miner’s has a well-trained staff of 80 employees and a fourth-generation family is continuing the FAMILY TRADITION. The family includes Lee and his wife, Lois, their son and daughter, Gary and Renee, and Gary’s children, Rachel and David who are going to college while working at the Drive Inn.
Much of the Miner’s growth and success has been due to the faithful service of the managers Julie Barber and Adrian Thomas Lewis, the tireless efforts of its employees and, of course, to the many THOUSANDS OF LOYAL CUSTOMERS who have not only patronized Miner’s Drive Inn, but have also recommended the Drive Inn to their friends and family. All these people have made Miner’s known throughout the region as the must-stop restaurant for people visiting Yakima.
