Merritt Island Park

Merritt Island is a beautiful park with some great walking, hiking, and running trails including some that are more forest like than others. Great trees and it’s fun to see chipmunks, squirrels, cardinals, other random birds, and the occasional rabbit. The bathrooms aren’t always open and they leave something to be desired, but otherwise, it’s a great place to connect with nature.

Merritt Island is beautiful if you are riding like I was there is an upper and a lower trail/path. The lower one runs right beside the water pretty much. 0ne other thing I was happy about is how the trees canopy over top of the trail which kept the sun off my back. It's a great place to bring the family for a picnic by the water or that special someone. It is hands down my favorite spot in Welland so far.

Great place to go for walks, picnics, playground for the kids, or just to enjoy nature
