Love these neighbourhood gems and this one was no exception. Tables are limited so come early if you want one of the 3 tables inside. There are outdoor seatings too. The menu is edited, and the pasta was fantastic. If you love Ask for Luigi, you would love Mercato di Luigi. I had the blanca ragu for $21 and it was yummy! Featured menu changes daily and because it is part mini grocery store, you can buy fresh made pasta and sauces for those lazy days when you don't want to cook. Opened a couple of months ago, I see this place getting even busier in the coming summer months.
Visited at lunch. Great pasta! The shop's owners were taking up a few of the tables and sitting in on a business call that they were listening to on speakerphone. Considering that seating is very limited and the place was otherwise quiet, it made for a pretty uncomfortable place to eat
I would 100% go back again. What a cute spot for lunch. There's some seating inside and outside. The banana bread is so freaking good -- comes with this little butter spread. Paired with a coffee? Perfection. Really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich! The pasta I chose was great, although one thing I'd change is to have it a bit harder/al dente! They have a few groceries available too. There's some pizza dough, meats & cheese, ice cream, pasta sauces and fresh pasta.
Wonderful staff, amazing talented chef with rotating pasta specials. The breakfast cornetto is a must. Fresh ingredients stocked in the self serve fridges. Every neighbourhood should have a market concept like this!
The pasta lunches are amazing, the grocery selection is awesome, and the staff are so friendly and accommodating : Everything was brought to our table quickly. Also love the free cookie with the coffee!
Lackluster if not rude service, no greeting at the counter and before I even paid for the order the staff simply turned away. We grabbed a seat and waited for our food which was ready very quickly. However, we were provided with no cutlery and the staff that eventually supplied them made us feel like we were inconveniencing him. The pesto pasta was delicious but the carbonara was the saltiest dish I’ve ever had no exaggeration. The real turn off was the service and while I understand that the place just opened and it was busy, it felt like the attitude displayed by the staff was that this cafe was a blessing to the neighborhood so expect to be treated like a you are one of many who will line up just to get a taste.
A blend of neighborhood coffee shop, restaurant mid day only and Italian gourmet grocery store. High quality coffee, delicious pasta's and friendly staff. Recommended.
Ordered the Ragu Amatriciana $21 and sat outside on the sunny patio to eat. Service was polite and quick. Portions are ok for one person but for the price I wish it were a little larger. If you want to feel satisfied I would suggest adding the bread for $1.50 to soak up all the delicious sauce. The one downside is that the fresh pasta was far too al dente - it was borderline raw in the middle. This could be a one-off situation as I've eaten at Ask For Luigi multiple times and the pasta was cooked perfectly consistently, but something for the staff to be aware of. Outdoor patio is dog friendly they are not allowed inside which is always a plus! I love its neighbourhood setting, which adds to the cozy ambience.
Love this new neighbourhood spot! The staff are so lovely, and the food is delicious - pastries, pasta and coffee! Lots of grocery options too, I'll be visiting regularly.
The espresso con panna tastes like an Italian espresso for real. Pasta slightly overpriced but tasty. A nice outdoor space which is rare in this city.
