A beautiful park! There's tons to do, including some really great nature programs. The park is right along Lake Superior, so there are miles of beaches. From some campsites, you can watch both the sunrise and the sunset over the water. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. They gave us a bunch of places inside and outside the park to visit. I've been to a lot of state parks, but this is definitely one of my favorites!

Good camping place, out of state license plates pay quite a bit more to get in though.(only if you are taking your car into the park) Very large beach good for swimming in Lake Superior in the summer (the water is always pretty cold though). (No lifeguards). Several pavilions and a snack shop perfect for family get togethers. Good place to explore the UP.

A beautiful park for trails along the rocky beach, through the forest and with sandy swimming beach. A nice public area for picking and camping. Make reservations online for camping and upgrade to a "walk-in only" sure when you arrive. That way, you might get a lakeside site, but if crowded, you at least get to camp. Rock hunting is allowed, but if you are unfamiliar with state codes on collecting, be sure to ask. Day use ends at sunset, which can be late in the summer. Plans in the works to refurbish and expand the park.

Beautiful large park on lake superior, lots to explore and enjoy. At one end is the entrance to the portage canal with the lighthouse. Be prepared for long distances to reach the power in quite a few of the campsites. The check-in station does have a limited supply of extension cords to loan out.

This campground is very cool! Large campsites, lots of room to play. Only downsides are the distance from restaurants and there was only one shower in restrooms. I will certainly be back to this spot, it's a beautiful campground!
