Before finding Maxwell Mansion, I had originally booked at a different hotel that I was not excited about. I was told to call the weekend before to check for availability, and was desperately hoping they would have something special to help us celebrate our anniversary. I spoke with a woman named Lisa, told her about my other hotel situation and she was more than happy to help! She was outstanding actually! She sent over different virtual tours of each room, went above and beyond to accommodate a one-night stay, and was able to get me very excited again for our anniversary celebration. She even sent complimentary champagne and roses to our room!!!

Lisa, and the staff, are extremely professional, kind and knowledgeable, which is super important to me given that it was my first time taking a trip to Lake Geneva. When we arrived, the room blew my expectations out of the water.  It was immaculate, super clean all around, the bed was super comfy, the bathroom was spotless, and it was everything I thought it could be and more! In addition, the hotel has great amenities, like a pool and bocce ball, as well as secret spot (you have to ask about it, or go find it for yourself)! 

On our last day, Lisa was actually there, and I was able to meet her and thank her in person. She clearly loves her job, and it is evident that she is passionate about what she does! We are definitely coming back next year for our anniversary and for a longer stay to take in the full experience!

I am sad to say we got suckered in by their website. The reality is the property is very tired. The rooms are small with no place to even put a bag. No dressers, closet, or even a bag stand. We had to hang our cloths on the fake deer head in our room.  They were nice but way smaller than the pictures lead you to believe. The WiFi is terrible and unreliable, the property is very run down, the Mansion is cracked and aged beyond what you would expect.  The amenities advertised are only available a select few days each week, and the overall feel is of a place past it's prime, riding out high prices without putting anything back into upkeep. The toiletries being attached to the wall gave the feel of a motel 6.  The staff is the sole exception to our disappointment, they were helpful, friendly, and thorough.  In all we would only go back if the rates were cut in half.

Beautiful Victorian building. The stable rooms all have steam showers. There's a pool and bocci ball court. The building itself has a bar area and lots of places to relax outside. Very quiet and clean!!

Very beautiful facilities. Stunning views at every corner. Great outdoor area including multiple fire pits, bocci ball, and a great pool. Seconds from the lake. Would highly recommend. Wish they had breakfast and better WiFi.
