Carvetti's Grill & Tap House

I very much enjoy coming here, mostly to eat outside. Outside dining is beautiful! So I was disappointed to have outside dining closed on a beautiful fall evening. Service has always been good. Not a Chicago fan of any kind; they could step it up with New Jersey Devil's stuff😉

Terrible! The buffalo wings had no sauce, the fish was definitely out of a box and the fries were greasy and undercooked! When we told the staff, the manager was not accommodating at all and we still had to pay full price for the meal. I would not recommend this restaurant!

Food menu has changed from what is advertised on the website. Burger and Mac n’ cheese, which are specialities, were subpar at best. Drink menu looked decent, but didn’t sample that. Atmosphere was boring and the restaurant was understaffed and empty.

Where to begin. First off ive been in the bar and restaurant industry so i normally give people the benefit of the doubt. Nor have I ever written a review on a eating establishment but this was just.. so bad. First we arrive and a waiter takes about 5 minutes to come and take our drink order, not a big deal considering how hungover he looked but there was also about 10 people in the entire restaurant. The waiter took the 3 other people's drink orders at our table, didn't even look at me and walked away. It happens.came back about 5 mins later and took my order of water. We ask to put the cubs game on and they said ok, working on it. Didn't do it. We decided on appetizers, cheese curds and jalapeno poppers...they came out burnt. Their fryer was put so high these things were dark brown. I Maybe woukd have cut them some slack if they had just opened for the day but it was almost 2 o'clock at this point and have had their fryer running for hours and no one noticed it was too high? Waiter comes back and takes our order. If you loook at their menu its mainly burgers and mac and cheese dishes. 3 of us order diffferent mac anc cheeses dishes while my husband ordered a burger. We again ask to put the cubs game on to the waiter, he said he forgot he's going to do it. Never happened. The manager comes out about 7 mins later to tell us , the mac and cheese isn't ready for the day and "it would be a while if we wanted to hang out and wait" I asked "how long is a while" and he looked at me pretty ashamed and all he said was "awhile". Again. It's almost 2 o'clock and half of their menu is mac and cheese and it's not ready for the day? None if us understood on this could happen and that the waiter who had been there since opening didn't inform us when he took our order. We asked the manager to put on the cubs game again, while we finished out beers because we cancelled the food order and wanted to leave and also asked for the check. This was the cherry on top of it all. I hear the Two nice old lady's sitting next two us call the waiter over and she says "this is not what i ordered i think this is water" so when the waiter walks away, I ask her what did she order and what did she get. She ordered pinot grigio, and they served her water in a wine pourer. THEY SERVED HER WATER INSTEAD OF WINE. HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN. She's not Jesus. We get our check, we are leaving and they finally put on the cubs game. This was all in a span of 25 mins. Eat here if you dare.

Lots of interesting twists on burgers and mac and cheese - it was fun to try something familiar yet new at the same time!
