Matsuyama Japanese Restaurant

The price here is really good for the big portions they give! They are not cheap on the seafood at all on their sushi! I find the rolls on their regular menu are not as good as the Specialty rolls except their California rolls are so good and I've never liked Cali roll from other restaurants. My favorite so far is their Sunset roll. It's amazing and it taste like butter! I would order a tray full of them if I could! I went in to order at the store once and there's a lot of traffic so I'm pretty sure the food is very fresh. They tasted fresh! There was once when I ordered a while ago which missed once rice was hard but the other times were great!

Chinese sushi chefs slice out big portions of fresh fish, that's always a good thing to me. The thing you should watch out for is fish bones, probably a one off incident but be careful. Friendly and fast service, and reasonably priced menu. Always great to see options of bento boxes available for dinner as many Japanese restaurants are doing away with them, in my recent experience. One of my best Japanese experiences. Amazing price, especially during Happy Hour late evening. Amazing quality and vast variety of food options. Will definitely come back if I'm back to Vancouver next time. Parking: A bit hard to find a parking spot sometimes

The good old stomping ground. Late night sushi at 9pm at a steep discount but the quality is still up there. In fact, 10 years ago the food still taste just as expected. Even some of the staff working there are still the same. What a legendary place, withstanding the test of time and pandemic.

Been coming to Matsuyama for ages now, they've become the go to place after practice or team sporting events as they have a late night menu. Food here is pretty consistent and good quality! They're quite fast in making each order and getting it to your table. Speaking of tables, they are quite COVID-19 friendly and have all their patrons spread apart safely, putting customers at ease when dining in. Only thing is...their late night menu prices are the same as the regular menu items at Sushi Lovers, making one feel like they're not saving a lot in the long run.

Good quality sushi and friendly staff! The late night 9pm menu has a big discount so I would totally recommend visiting then. The restaurant is usually quite busy so expect a bit of wait time.

I came here for their late night menu dinner recently. The restaurant was vibrant and offered nice service despite being very busy. In terms of food, I tried their Chop Scallop Nigiri sushi, Salmon and Toro Sashimi, Salmon Belly Robata grilled, Agedashi Tofu Chicken Karaage, Salmon and Tai Aburi, and Chopped Scallop Cone. Everything was really good, especially given the price. The salmon sashimi, scallop nigiri and cone, chicken karaage, and salmon aburi stood out the most.

The maki rolls we ordered was - tamago, dynamite, california and spicy tuna roll. The food was very bland and the rice was very dry. The ingredients didn't taste fresh. And definitely not worth the price.

Great food at good prices. Has always been my go-to spot for reliable sushi. Their late night menu is an added bonus.

Their late night specials 9pm are decent. Nothing fancy. Nothing that causes you to go WOW. I find their late night special pricing is reflective of the quality of food. If you're hungry and want some filling food then this is the place for you. Be warn that parking can be brutal and the restaurant does get busy for their late night specials.
