Ajishou Japanese Cuisine

Nice food and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. We ordered delivery due to the pandemic but would love to try fresh at the restaurant next time. The food was packaged and presented well. No fault of the restaurant, but the delivery guy was very slow and by the time the food arrived the fried food was soggy, chicken was hard, and sushi started to warm up.

My wife and I come here quite frequently. The food is always fantastic and the service is prompt. I would say this is one of the more high end sushi restaurants in Richmond but you get what you pay for. The fish is always fresh and expertly prepared.

Very nice interior and great service. The presentation is beautiful that’s why the price reflects it. The food is so fresh and taste was delicious. I would definitely come back.

A premium quality sushi experience. The takeout was even wrapped in a cloth like bag. The hotate nigiri was juicy and sweet. The goose liver melted in your mouth. The uni was creamy and the salmon miso aburi was pretty and tasty. Also, the sushi rice was a perfect firm and chewy texture with the perfect amount of vinegar and sweetness. You do pay a bit more here, but the quality is there.

After dropping off my daughter to a cooking class, I needed a place to get dinner for myself. I ended up at Ajishou Japanese Cuisine. I had no idea how pricey the restaurant was. I walked in thinking, "Most japanese restaurants have bento box deals, and if they don't have that, they're likely to have some kind of Donburi bowl that I could eat. Even just one or two rolls might suffice." Lo and behold...I opened up the menu and there were zero bento boxes on the menu. As I don't eat meat, the only Donburi bowl that would have been OK for me to eat was the Unagi Don, but at $19.50 it was not my idea of an affordable Donburi bowl. So then I took a look at the rolls. Wow, $7.95 for an Avocado roll! I love my Avocado rolls but...$7.95! Thankfully, I managed to find one option that would satisfy my tummy and my taste buds without hurting my wallet. I ordered a Tenzaru Soba for $13.95. It came with several pieces of tempura, some soba noodles and a dipping sauce for the noodles, complete with an egg quail's egg, I think. I'd been itching to have zaru soba for awhile and heaved a happy sigh of contentment upon eating my Tenzaru Soba. There are definitely lots of interesting  options on the menu at Ajishou. It looks like a nice place to go to if you're looking to splurge. It just wasn't really the best place for me, considering my situation that day. I just wanted a modest, tasty, affordable meal before going to pick up my child from an after school activity. I wouldn't recommend the place for anyone who's on a budget. Unless you're happy to settle with Tenzaru Soba, like me! The Tenzaru Soba was good though, and they do have very attractive looking items to choose from on the menu, so I would say that it's definitely a place worth checking out for a special occasion! Service: Good Parking: Free and plentiful Location: It's part of the Central at Garden City complex where there's a Walmart as well as many other shops and restaurants. Lansdowne Centre is a short drive away, and Garden City Park is also fairly close.

After the first try, then never wanna come back again, leaving a review for the reminder. They spent 40 minutes to prepare my lunch combo, while there is only me, one customer staying in the table to order food. And I went in there at 12:20, not rushed in at 2:30 if the chef need a rest. Turn out the Chicken Teriyaki is overcooked, the sauces and taste is burnt hhhh. Good thingsthe white rice is fine, others are mediocre and below average. Background music is fashion kpop. Come if you want, I won’t. Just speak out my experience.

Ordered the aburi sushi combo from their lunch menu. The rice was mushy and felt like the vinegar wasn't mixed properly. The ikura was overly salty, not like the ones at other places where there's a slight flavour of something else. The seared fish was alright, but a big part of nigiri dishes is the rice, and this one was very subpar. Would not recommend this dish. The Miso cod however is very worth it and would highly recommend.

Great lunch specials and fresh quality. Family friendly restaurant. They also have a robotic server that brings food to your table. Service was excellent.

It's a fave of some people and I can see why, although a hit and miss for me, for the price range....I expect more. Food and servings are alright and ambience is nice. Vegetarian options: Salad Kid-friendliness: Sure why not. I mean they allow kids. I would not say they made extra effort for kids like Kiddie placemat w crayons but normally in places like these it's not usually offered Parking: Plenty off peak, challenging during dinnertime for sure though. Ajiahou, one of the best Japanese restaurant in Richmond. The food is amazing! Anko liver tastes awesome. Kushiyaki are well cooked and flavored. With the sauce, brings to another level.
