Mary's Place Cafe

Still one of the best breakfast spots in Halifax. Great prices, large menu, and friendly staff. Can't beat the breakfast special for $6.99!

Asked for my toast a little more toasted because it was soggy bread that came to my table. They came back with burnt toast and when I said this is burnt they replied “well I’m not going to make you eat it” and then never brought new toast. When I said something about the situation at the check out they never apologized and were very defensive saying people ask for burnt toast in which I replied I never used the word burnt, I just said a little more toasted. Very uncomfortable experience. Not good customer service.

The food today was absolutely disgusting. The potatoes were seasoned terribly and disgusting and the omelet had so much garlic I couldn't take more than a bite. I hate leaving negative reviews but this was a bit much. Even the bathroom was terrible, filthy and the lock on the door broken. This is a restaurant the bathrooms shouldn't make you lose your appetite....

Super cozy mom and pop style cafe. Right price point for a quick breakfast. Friendly staff.

This place is awful. I couldn't hear the server speaking, I don't think she even smiled once. She did not ask how our meal was. The coffee was disgusting. The potatoes and bacon were disgusting. The water the server brought was hot?? And to top it off, it cost me $4 just to use the debit machine. Don't advertise that you "accept debit" without including the fact that you have to pay just to use it.
