For a Sunday afternoon 1:15, there was no lineup…yeah! However, you won’t get let in until all in your group are present. The servers were friendly. As for the food, the creamy chicken broth was very flavourful and the thin noodles were good. The soft-boiled egg looked perfect I didn’t taste it. And the cha shu pork slices was soft and tender. There weren’t anymore ingredients except for some seaweed and green onions. Overall, I was satisfied with my lunch except that the ratio of noodles and other ingredients was 3:1. Well, it was really the broth I came to try. It was nice to have fried garlic bits, chili powder and sesame seeds on the table to add in if desired.
The food is tasty, meal prep quick, and service is attentive and friendly. It seems that they do try to clear the tables and get you along to create a higher turn over. Their roast pork is really tender and delicious and a side portion is avaliable. Overall this place is a bit pricey for what you get. The ramen is more like a noodle rather than the 'instant noodle ramen' style. There is a street patio area which is protected with plastic for weather. On street parking. #letsguide #covid
Pretty good Ramen. Uses chicken broth instead of traditional pork. The imported Japanese Beer is very good. I suggest you to request a mild ramen and get the spicy sauce as a side. The spiciness of the sauce is very spicy. Broth is very good and tasty.
I saw high ratings on this ramen shop and giving it a try with my hubby. We ordered Aosa ramen and Cha Shu tamago ramen. Totally enough for the meat and veggie, however the noodles texture is soft and soggy. The broth is simple creamy soup, not a rich beef or pork soup base. I personally do not prefer creamy soup base with noodles, it makes me feel full and sick. The only thing good about it is the condiments fried garlic slices, sesame, and spicy flicks that you can put as many into the ramen.
No menus provided as there is a QR code provided on the table for diners. Ramen is cooked al dente and the chicken broth is super creamy and tasty. Restaurant does not take cash and is card only. Service staff is quick and courteous. Great spot in Richmond for ramen!
Small portions. The seaweed is a bit overpowering on the soup taste, makes it a bit fishy. Why is the chasu cold ? I get you can warm it up in the soup but it would be better if it’s already warm or at least grilled so it can accent the soup even better. Will remind them not to add in the seaweed next time.
The Aka Ramen broth was rich and creamy. Delicious hot ramen that warms your tummy. Tender pork too. No complaints for takeout ramen and definitely better than most ramen places I've tried.
new Rame place in Richmond area close to River Rock Casino! I am pretty impressed on how their service is fast, which is really awesome. There is not much exciting about their food but the hospitality and pleasantness of the staff makes a lot of difference. In terms of parking, its either a street parking or you have to park on the opposite plaza place.
The best ramen so far! Creamy broth and perfect tender noodles!! Nice deco and great service too, highly recommended!!
This was the second time visiting Marutama in Richmond and I must say, after trying the new Veggie Curry Ramen, I was hooked. The flavor was wonderful and the accompanying veggies were great! We also had an order of the gyoza and as usual, it was on point! All in all, we had a wonderful experience with both the staff and the food - we will definitely be visiting this location again.
