Maplewood Steakhouse

First time here and would go again if I lived here. We wondered about the low reviews but were so happy that we ate here. Good wine. We asked to change booths and they were very accommodating. Katie was an excellent waitress. Ribs were the best we ever had. Fabulous!! The only reason it is a 4 and not a 5 is that the mac and cheese was not hot. BUT Katie took it right back and heated it up! So it should really be a 5!!

Hard to rate after just going one time, but we had a good time. Everything was really good especially some smoked wings in a Thai sauce. Food came really fast. Some things weren't perfect, like getting the wrong type of French fry, and the waiter not checking in after handing off the food. Overall we got the impression these guys are trying to improve on the past. Give them a try!

Worst ribs I ever had! They left a bad aftertaste in my mouth and had a strange odor. Waitress came by and I explained the situation, she said she would have to talk to the manager! Manager came over and said that the ribs had just been made that day and that there was nothing wrong with them! When I received my bill for a little over $45 I told her I was not paying for the ribs, I had only taken one bite and new they were bad. After being confronted that I was not going to pay for the ribs, but would pay for the side salad I did eat, she stormed off and said she would take the ribs off the bill. When I looked at the bill it was $3 whole dollars less! We are talking about a $16 meal. She said the the machine did all the calculations, she would not listen and try to understand. She basically said I had to pay for the ribs, it wasn't their fault I didn't like the ribs!

My medium steak was previously frozen & came out well done. Service was good but that is all I can say.

Place is pretty cool, laid back atmosphere (a lot of taxidermy but tasteful). Really gives you that up north feel. Love the turtle tank, bar, and their steaks are awesome. Overall great place to go in the area.
