Joe's Pasty Shop

There's nothing like it. Joe's original beef pasty. Pastry shell with just the right texture & taste. Filling is perfect flavor. It's big enough that I can't eat the entire pasty at once.

First time trying a pasty. Amazingly good!!! Would definitely go again. Service was awesome.

Live in Milwaukee but take trips up north multiple times a year... Joe's is always a must even if it's a little out of the way sometimes. Dalicious traditional Pastys. Eat one there and bring some frozen Pastys home to enjoy until the next trip! I'm warming a Finnish style one up in my oven as I type this!

Was looking for pasties in northern Wisconsin, but couldn't find anyplace that served them, so decided to head over the border to the U.P. and found Joe's Pasty Shop in Ironwood. They had plenty of great pasties, as that's all they do! We all ordered "the Traditional" with meat, potato and onions stuffed inside a pastry, and we all loved it. There have about ten other kinds, even a breakfast pastie! But most are closely based on the traditional ingredients that go back to when the miners brought them in their lunch pails deep down into the mines. It's a cute, tiny little dinner, just a handful of tables, straight out of the 1940's, but the pasties are just wonderful! Don't be put off by it's small size, once you taste the food, you'll put Joe's on your list of "must visit" places when in the North Woods. Highly Recommended.
