Mapleview Animal Clinic opened in the fall of 2004.

Story

Mapleview Animal Clinic is now under the ownership of Drs. Sara Ayres and Peter Sponagle.

Dr. Ayres graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in 1992 and was Board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) in 2000. Dr. Ayres has been at Mapleview since 2005, providing referral surgery services. Dr. Sponagle graduated from OVC in 1995. He joined Mapleview in 2011. We would also like to welcome Dr. Amy Jackson to the Mapleview Animal Clinic Team. Dr. Jackson graduated from OVC in 1999 and has been with us since the summer of 2012.


Mapleview Animal Clinic is a companion animal veterinary hospital conveniently located in the south end of Barrie, Ontario at the corner of Mapleview Drive East & Huronia Road.

At Mapleview Animal Clinic we provide veterinary care for your dogs and cats. We provide medical, surgery and dental care. We recognize that pets are a wonderful part of your family. Our wellness and vaccination programs are designed to prevent disease and prolong the lives of your family pets. Dr. Ayres continues to provide referral surgery services to clients in central Ontario.

The team at Mapleview Animal Clinic is top notch! They all go out of their way to make certain that both the pets and owners are well taken care of! The receptionists are absolutely wonderful and it amazes me each time that they can keep track of everyone's 'baby', memorized their names and know their needs. Our 3 dogs loved going there and always greeted the staff with plenty of kisses! The veterinarians Peter and Amy take their time with each consultation, never making you feel rushed, and explain carefully all options available so that the proper course of treatment may be chosen for your pet. When it was time to put our elderly dog to sleep they were kind enough to come to our home so that she would not be stressed in her final hours and could peacefully fall asleep in the home she loved. We will never forget what kindness and gentleness Peter and Andrea showed to our beloved fur-babies and us on that difficult day!

This is my Animal Clinic. I would never go anywhere else. The folks here have helped me with 7 of my cats and now care for others. These people are so amazing. When I had to put my cat down, they were the most supportive people I have ever had around me. They kept me from a total melt down. Dr. Amy thank you for everything you do to help me and my son with our precious fur babies. Dr. Peter thank you for all that you have done and continue to do to take care of my fur babies. Sherry, Andrea, Brit, to you I can not imagine a Vet clinic without you and your constant loving care for my fur babies. Sara, you own and run the most Amazing Animal Clinic I have ever had the pleasure to be connected with. Thanks to ALL of you. You make my Vet visits amazing and I feel your love for my fur babies. To all of the others in the background that I do not really know, thank you for being a part of this amazing Animal Clinic where you all do great works. I would not go anywhere else. If you love your pets in Barrie, Please check out this place. You will not be disappointed. You will be amazed. Thank You

We have a veterinary clinic close to her house, in fact a few of them but we drive the 25 minutes to go to this Vet Clinic because they treat our animals so well. We highly recommend the doctors and all of the staff here. Very friendly very supportive!

We've taken our dog there since he was a puppy. They have been just wonderful in providing compassionate care through everything from a bad cut needing surgery to bouts of giardia and kennel cough to handling his neutering and hernia repair. They have been so gentle when we go there even for routine vaccinations that he never balks at going in. Dr. Amy and Dr. Peter are thorough and patient in answering questions and the staff are friendly and efficient. They truly care about their furry patients.
