A great little park with a picnic/BBQ area, children's playground, bathrooms, a large outdoor pool, pull up bar and rings for some calisthenics. My attraction to the park was the giant old growth stumps that remain as a reminder of this ancient area.
This park has kept many old-growth stumps to remind everyone of the historic giant trees that once covered the surrounding areas. There’s a good playground with swings for toddlers. A fitness area with chin-up bars and hanging rings. Two baseball diamonds for Little League players. Lots of benches with a mix of both sun and shade. Picnic tables with standing barbecue grills for charcoal cooking. Clean bathrooms. The main pool feature is wonderful in the summer with lots of green space inside a fenced area. Enjoy!
The outdoor swimming pool is always a treat to look forward to all year round and the Maple Grove Park facility delivers the dream. The first thing that jumps at you is how clean and well maintained the entire area is. The pool water is immaculate and just the right temperature making it child friendly and comfortable. The pool is designed with shallow banks that gradually reseed into deeper centers making it perfect for children of all ages to safely enjoy the water activities. Change rooms and washrooms are clean and readily available. The entire park is family oriented and some distance away from busy streets making it a calm and quiet escape from the robust city life. A great place to spend a sunny summer afternoon!
Nice park, there's children's playground, large pool
Sizable park with playgrounds and swings for different age groups. Has two baseball diamonds, and one seasonal water park. Has washrooms, benches, picnic tables, and trash bins. Free residential parking. ShawPassport WiFi accessible.
It's a wonderful park with an outdoor public swimming pool. It's open during the late spring through to the end of summer only, as it obviously would be too frigid for an outdoor uncovered pool in wintertime in Canada ... . But wonderful in the months that it is open! A great way to beat the summer heat!! Playground: Great playground location for kids. Lots of jungle gym equipment and swings and monkey bars. Lots and lots of open space that's well shaded with nice big oak and maple trees that are well over 100 years old. Beautiful spot. Restrooms: Restrooms are open daily till about 9pm to the general public, always clean and in working order, always stocked with supplies soap and toilet paper, hand dryer etc. They even have hot water!!! Not all public washrooms in Vancouver's Park Board have hot water, most are ice cold water only.
A fabulous park with towering trees 800 years old! This place includes a dynamic playground, two sets of swings, a baseball field and a great place for picnics and outdoor activities. Not to mention a giant outdoor pool and concession stand which would also be 5 stars if they offered debit cards and credit cards. An incredible place to hang out in the summer, offers free music for families every Friday night.
Filled with tall graceful trees, Maple Grove is a wonderfully tranquil place for a stroll or picnic. Massive tree stumps scattered through the park, aesthetic in their own right, are reminders of the temperate rainforest that once covered much of Vancouver. The outdoor pool is a popular summertime destination, with people of all ages enjoying a swim in the sparkling waters. Come in late March or early April to see the four cherry trees. This property was purchased from the Canadian Pacific Railway CPR by the Municipality of Point Grey in the early 1920s and originally named Bowser Park after Francis Bowser, second Reeve of the Municipality. In 1944 the Park Board was petitioned to change the park’s name to Maple Grove in recognition of the beautiful trees found on the site.
As a kid who grew up in the area… this park is epic!! Sooo many great memories of chilling in this park after hours. One of the best doobie spots in the city! It also has a pool and washrooms. I do wish they would make a better basketball court.
Excellent park for family and friends! Nice pool for kids and beautiful nature environment. Public washrooms available.
