Manistee Hotel

Exterior of the hotel is a bit dated. However the staff was great, friendly, and hospitable. Our room was clean, decent, and perfect for us. The hotel had a wonderful welcoming smell, and I note this because most hotels have a specific scent to them that I don't really care for, this smelled fresh, clean, and welcoming. We ate breakfast at the restaurant in the lobby, food was great and a pretty decent complimentary breakfast included with room. All in all, I was satisfied with our stay.

The building is obviously old and could use some sprucing up...fresh coat of paint would help a lot! Room was spacious, and fairly clean. The bathroom was small (my friend and I called it a hobbit bathroom lol) and had some cobwebs in the corners but overall fine. Good location, right across the street from the S.S. City of Milwaukee, not far from downtown and lots of shops and restaurants.

Couldn't post negative stars. Very unprofessional. Given a room and door was wide open. Got my money back and went elsewhere. Clerk acted like he was stoned or drunk and told me they were updated because of mold throughout the walls. Two different priced rooms. Clerk said"why pay $20 more for a room with a hot tub? It's a room." Almost like they don't want business. Another guy was turned away with his young daughter because he wanted to pay with cash.

Pink Lotus Fusion restaurant. Overall very enjoyable lunch and nice clean atmosphere. Just a word of caution, my opinion is that the food runs a bit on the spicy side. I ordered mild and it was almost too hot for me, and I can handle spice and heat better than most people.

The building is dated. The pool was warm the hot tub was great!! Just because the building is dated it is no reason to leave a poor review. The rooms are up to date and clean!! The staff is friendly too!
