Great Chinese restaurant for seafood lovers! The crab noodles were huge and yummy! I loved the salt and pepper squid, and the pork belly preserved vegetables dish! Highly recommend! Big veggie dishes in terms of portions :
Mandarin kitchen is just outside Queensway tube station. They offer the best lobster noodles in London with lots of chunky pieces of lobster meat. The chicken was also good with the salt and pepper squid. Really enjoyed the tofu with minced beef and soups. Very friendly staff and a really good Chinese option in London.
Convenient location, just a stone throw away from Queensway tube station. Family run Chinese restaurant where we use to go all the time, felt quite nostalgic going again. We always order our favourite, the lobster cooked with ginger and spring onion served on a bed of crispy noodles, it is absolutely delicious. We also ordered the fried crispy chicken with prawn crackers, mixed seafood noodles, roast pork char siu and a vegetable broth... Friendly staff and excellent food, couldn't ask for more. Until next time.
Long-standing institution and family-run business that manages to do remarkably well despite the challenges of Covid and supply chain issues. Alex and Robert are always exceedingly hospitable and friendly. The menu offers traditional Cantonese fare and the seafood is the main attraction with the lobster noodles worth travelling across the globe for as evidenced by their international clientele. Our favourites include the sesame prawn toast, the Mandarin ribs and are always a hit with the children. The interior is well-decorated and clean, there was a buzzy atmosphere for the Lunar New Year and staff are always efficient. We certainly intend to return as much as we can and have eaten here on many happy occasions.
Yummy yummy though a lil pricey £££ we got lobster noodles, sweet and sour pork, salted egg yolk squid and rice to share between 4 of us. Good flavors and great vibes, around £30 per person. Pricey but worth a good time and a happy belly :,
Come just for their lobster noodles! After all these years even with a change of chef, it lived up to expectations - springy egg noodles in the thick ginger & spring onion sauce. Apart from that dish, the rest the dishes are just mediocre. We started with the shredded Peking duck, which I found rather dry, the pancake was also quite dehydrated and the plum sauce tasted odd. Quite like the salt & pepper squid, it is deep fried very well and not rubbery. Rest of the dishes are not worth a mention as it was just subpar. Nonetheless still a popular joint, and it’s best to make a reservation to be sure of a table. Food : Value : Service : Ambiance :
Lovely dinner experience overall. The lobster noodles were great particularly the noodles component of the dish. The sesame prawn toast is top! The prawn dumpling soup is also highly recommended and the duck is great!Recommended dishesVanilla Icecream
Hands down the BEST lobster noodle globally…hear me out. There’s a reason why you have to prebook a table and that the restaurant is full to the brim almost every evening..I’ve tried equivalents globally and nothing comes close to their lobster noodle in terms of taste, freshness and die hard global loyal clientele. The restaurant was also mentioned in the ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ book, has a low key celebrity following they don’t post pics on the wall etc.. It’s a Restaurant for all occasions be it birthdays, celebration events etc. Also order the Gigantic Prawns, Salt & Pepper Baby Squid, Razor Clams…one of the very few restaurants I crave for! Service is fantastic too considering how busy they are and they greet regulars warmly.
Came here to try the lobster noodles and it did not disappoint. It was delicious and the staff were on hand to mix and dish it out for us. We also tried the fish in sweet and sour sauce which I would highly recommend. Other dishes were the crispy squid, stuffed bean curd and Pak choi. So full afterwards and very satisfied. Would definitely visit here again and service was good
The food is delicious and staff are friendly. You never feel rushed to leave. I have been here a few times and would definitely come back again. I recommend the lobster noodles! :D
