I recently dined at the Mandarin Restaurant in Scarborough, and it was a delightful experience. This place has such a nice atmosphere and I love all of the decor. The service was very fast and our server, Masumi, was the sweetest and most attentive server ever! She has amazing customer service and people skills. She gave us warm towels before and after our meals and I really appreciated that. The food itself is pretty mid but there are definitely some food options that are worth eating lots of, like the prime rib and other meat dishes. I've never been to Mandarin before but I'd definitely come back just for the good vibes, atmosphere, and service. While the food is definitely not worth the ~$50 per person, this is still a nice place to eat at with a group of people for sure.
As the old saying goes, “Variety is the spice of life,” and if this is true then Mandarin Restaurant is the place for you. My wife and I took our family to the Mandarin for dinner. At this all you can eat buffet there were so many different kinds of foods to choose from that it was truly mind boggling. From hot Chinese dishes, Roast Beef, cold salads, and sweet desserts there was plenty to go around. My family filled up our plates multiple times and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. I highly recommend this terrific restaurant.
I visited this place today . But today I was extremely disappointed- the manager the thin lady lady at the counter with long hair all black uniform was super rude for no reason- no smile just talking as if she just has to deal with all the problems of the world and let it out on the customers . I did not feel welcomed . Also the employees seemed soo demotivated the old man serving not once asked us if we wanted drinks or anything else . Food was good but service was below average . Super sad :
Mandarin is what it is and they deserve a ton of respect for doing it this long...nnThe staff are amazing and tend to you with regularity, politeness, enthusiasm and professionalism. 5 star Service.nnFood, you know what you are getting by going to a Mandarin. You don't come here cause you want captivating Asian food, you come cause you want American Chinese food and other great options your grandparents from back country Ontario will eat.nnYou will always find food you like, and you will eat as much of it as you can.nnThe atmosphere is a bit dated, but is classic Mandarin; still nice to go to every now and then with a group of people who don't know what they would order at a Family style restaurant. Looking at you uncle Fred.
