Been twice now, the recipes are good. One of the better curry options in the city. However the consistency is not great. Everything from portion size to food temperature to spice level to service varied kind of drastically between the two visits. More training for front and back staff is required.Food: 4/5
I heard that this place is popular in Japan so I was excited to try it. I love Japanese curry already so I was happy with my meal. You have the opinion in deciding the size and spicy level you want. I got the regular size and standard spice. Overall, I enjoyed the flavours but I wished there was more cheese sauce.Food: 4/5
I went there on thanksgiving, the lady told us they have closed early because of shortage of staff as of holiday! Still she welcomed us all inside and the hospitality was so good! Food was so great, I had something good cuisine after a long time in Toronto! I appreciate their kindness and good food! Food: 5/5
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Maji Curry, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for the evening. I ordered their Chicken Katsu Curry with Cheese, and it was a true delight! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The addition of cheese took the dish to a whole new level, making every bite a symphony of taste. The menu at Maji Curry is a masterful mix of flavors and textures that cater to all taste preferences. The dishes were not only visually appealing but also bursting with exquisite flavors. Each bite felt like a culinary adventure, showcasing the chef's creativity and passion for food. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who made sure we had a delightful dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations, enhancing our overall enjoyment. Furthermore, the attention to detail in presentation and the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients truly set Maji Curry apart. The dessert selection was the perfect sweet ending to an already fantastic meal. I highly recommend Maji Curry to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience. I can't wait to return and savor more of their delectable offerings. Bravo to the entire team for creating a gastronomic masterpiece!
We went on Saturday night, there were people waiting outside so we got take out. We ordered pork cutlet and steak. The curry was great, very flavorful with a hint of sweetness. There was pickled veggies on the side which can cut down the heaviness of the curry. My kids love it. Will come back and highly recommend it.
Amazing curry!!! Great staff!!! Just got back from japan a week ago and the ambience including the play list, the food and the people brought us right back!Food: 5/5
Coming in had too high of an expectation. Good curry but not even close to the No.1 Japan level. Tried the chicken cutlet with cheese, while the chicken cutlet is actually just chicken fingers. Curry sauce was warm at best while they should be served hot. Their omelette on rice is also not close to what I expected. The egg layer is very thin, while a good omelette curry should have a thick and creamy egg cover.
I recently visited with a couple of friends. The restaurant had caught our eye through some review videos, and we decided to make it a lunchtime visit on a Sunday. The exterior of the restaurant is charming. The food models displayed behind the glass-wall were a delightful touch, reminiscent of dining spots in Japan. Inside, the interior was clean and inviting overall. The washroom deserves special mention for its cleanliness and accessibility features. Just remember to press the red button to lock the door. We ordered their recommended dishes: Pork Cutlet Curry with Cheese and Hamburger Steak Curry with Cheese, both in large sizes with level 2 spiciness. The presentation was faithful to the models and menu pictures, although we were slightly disappointed to find that "with cheese" meant a side of creamy white sauce rather than real melted cheese. Another thing to note is that the large size refers only to the rice and curry, not the meat. The rice, curry, and sauce blended well, but the meat portions felt a bit lacking. Of the two dishes, the Pork Cutlet stood out in terms of taste. The customer service was good. She provided us with pickled veggies that were only available upon request. In terms of value, the meal was filling, but it would have been more balanced with more meat. If you plan to visit, and especially if you want a large size, consider adding an extra meat option. Overall, it was an authentic Japanese curry experience. It’s a welcome addition to Toronto's Japanese curry scene. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible washroom
Came at around 5pm, the place was not busy. Ordered the omelet pork tonkatsu curry and it was good. The serving size was big. The staff was also nice.Food: 5/5
Absolutely phenomenal! Food was amazing, the curry was warm and flavourful with an amazing unique depth of flavour better than Coco ichibanya. The ambiance was wonderful it felt just like we were back in Japan. Almost made me cry when I had it. I highly, highly recommend coming here if you can!!!Food: 5/5
