No complaints. Restaurant is clean enough, the waitress was friendly, but we needed to ask for water and other drink refills and the table was not cleared as we finished dishes. Salmon sashimi was exactly what I expected.
A nice cozy sushi restaurant for some reasonably priced no fuss sushi. Clean and friendly service, however can get slow when it’s busy. Overall, you’ll get decent sushi for a very decent price.
Objective review: This is a very neat restaurant with impeccable hygiene. Service is friendly and professional Unfortunately, the food I received was a major let down after the bright first impression. Sushi pizza was quite expensive. It was definitely overcooked and soaked in grease which tells me the deep fry oil was not changed for a while. There was no separating layer between salmon on top and the patty on the bottom, which resulted in the patty getting cold and salmon warming up early. I also ordered the green tea cheese cake, which costed more than an average price for a slice, yet the actual serving size was quite small, approximately half of what you'd expect. Maybe it was my luck, but after such a major let down, I think I'll be lunching elsewhere next time I am in the area. But hey, maybe the all-you-can-eat option is good!
Went to Tokyo Sushi with my sister for dinner and I'll I can say is, AMAZING!! The food is delicious, prices were decent, and the staff was so friendly! I definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone who loves sushi!
Very sweet family run store here. Service was great, sashimi very fresh. Good value for money. They have really good combos. Would come again!
What I ordered Sushi combo Lunch A: California roll, salmon roll, and spicy tuna roll Sashimi appetizer but with only salmon and tuna, no whitefish Everything was delicious - The rolls were a perfect size with more filling than rice. Sashimi was sliced nice and thick and was very fresh I dined solo and was seated immediately upon arriving. I was given the private booth at the back of the restaurant where I could eat in peace As soon as I was seated the waitress immediately served me hot green tea. When she took my order, my food came within minutes and the waitress even popped in again to refill my tea, which was nice. My reasoning for only giving 4/5 stars was the fact that I ALWAYS order lots of xtra ginger and I’ve never been charged for it, so when I saw on the menu that there was an extra fee, that was a bit of a turnoff. It’s like charging for extra wet naps at a Rib/steakhouse… That just seems odd to me, and kind of cheap! I’m also only giving 4 stars because my bill came to a whopping $36 after tax and tip ! Which seems a little steep for basic California and salmon rolls. But despite that, it was yummy I’ll be back to try the Donburi!
I’m a vegetarian but the sushi from Tokyo Sushi was worth the cheat day! My maki platter had a great diversity of fish and solid presentation for take out sushi! Fairly well priced as well $45 for the quality of the platter. What really stood out, however, was the prime quality of customer service. Normally, you wouldn’t expect such a warm welcome when getting take out, but I felt appreciated by the kindness of the FOH staff and efficiency of the kitchen. Definitely a go-to for my next non-vegetarian indulgence!
Place gets a 5 star rating for being one of the only restaurants in Toronto that serves salmon belly sashimi and would come here just solely for that cut. The other stuff like the sake ikura don and scallop sushi are just okay, but really just coming here for the salmon belly sashimi.
The deluxe chirashi don looked good but it didn't taste fresh. This was probably the result of delivery, but the uni had a bad odor. The rice was also hard and clumpy. For something over $30, I was pretty disappointed.
Paid $35 for a subpar roll and noodles as takeout. The sushi was very small, not cut well, and did not have fresh ingredients in the filling. The noodles were passable, but definitely not worth the asking price. Would not recommend!Food: 2/5
