I don't usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to do so due to the negative experiences related by others here. The care I have received from the front desk to the medical practitioners has been warm and friendly on all of my visits for my fractured hand. What's more, the treatment was first class from the RN's conscientious casting of my arm, the radiologists competence and swiftness, to the doctor's diagnosis and bedside manner. As is typical with the Internet, it is commonly those with axes to sharpen who take the time to leave reviews...that said, if you have had no prior dealings with the orthopaedics department I hope my experiences go some way to allay your fears.

Although I have had satisfactory interactions with providers and staff in the past with higher ratings, today's call for a knee sprain of my son's was met with a 10 minute hold, and a call back from a staff person who was short and condescending. I don't know if it's the culture there, but staff always seem to be cold in their interactions, and determined to be right.

"You cannot obtain medical records from the Medical Records Office." this was the response I received from another operator after 2 weeks leaving messages with "Medical Records." No one ever answers at MR, no supervisors are "in the office," and no one ever returned my calls. After this, I started all over with Central Maine Orthopedics in Auburn. Update: 2 1/2 weeks, still can't get my records forwarded to another office. Still no one returns phone calls. Everyone I reach: "I'm sorry you're having this trouble. I will forward your concern." Just dysfunctional.

Had a total knee replacement with Dr. Wexler in June 2017. I am doing very well, happy with the outcome thus far. Up and walking that day. Only issue I have is with the office staff. They don't return calls and don't always follow through on things. But I will take that with the great surgeon and medical staff.

I had both hips done by Dr. Johnston, a year apart.I have no complaints whatsoever. My pre-op instructions were clear and thorough. Both operations went well and I only had to spend one night in the hospital. I went home, used a walker for a bit, then a cane , but could function. I do not recall any unexpected pain Every person I dealt with was helpful and patient, throughout the entire process. I would and have highly recommended this professional, caring, and efficient team.
