MAI MAI Restaurant

Fair price and looks good but lacks flavor, and some dishes where strange. Generally, I think it's a classic case of their Cooks not tasting the food before they send it out. Case in point, the Singapore vermicelli looked good but had no flavor to the extent that I actually had to throw it on the stove top and fix it up with some olive oil, curry powder, cayenne pepper and salt to make it worth eating. Most of the other dishes had the same problem - minimal flavor, apart from the general Tso's chicken which tasted like heavily breaded chicken balls in a sweet and sour sauce, with a liberal sprinkling of canine power on the top which was strange and did little to improve the flavor. Seems clear they don't really put much emphasis on flavour or ingredients. Shame, not sure why restaurants like this don't follow the basic tenet of tasting the food they're making, before sending it out. Have had similar experiences with other Chinese restaurants in the area, and have yet to find one that’s consistently good, like the ones downtown. Looks good but lite on flavour.

Deep fried chicken in dish was non existent and was all tasteless flour batter covered by an even worse cornstarch.

The food here is delicious, and the guy Alan was amazing with customer service! And the price is reasonable. I suggest giving it a try Food: 5/5

Ordered the lunch special, fried chicken leg with fried rice, so the fried chicken leg was fantastic actually very good, the fried rice on the other hand was nasty. Tasted bland, no flavour whatsoever. You’re better off going to Trini gardens a couple doors down for a proper fried rice.

Friendly staff. Food tasted okay. Definitely seemed refried. I got the fried chicken over fried rice and chilli chicken. The chilli chicken was just chicken, no rice. Chilli chicken tasted good.

<3 Adding to my post I LOVE mai mai. <3 I didn't tip driver enough I added to my order an extra charge and didn't add that to the gratuity for the driver, almost 10$, I owe the driver Especially the ja do chicken. And they hooked me I ordered 100$ plus just now that will be a weeks worth of lunches and extra chicken to go with dinners

Their food suck, plain and simple, bought black pepper beef with rice and first time in my life I cannot finish this dish, the food is microwaved, ingredients are not fresh, not to mention the lazy service, do not go to this place.

This restaurant is amazing. I ordered dumplings at many places but the taste at this Papa Mama restaurant is the best taste I have ever tried. The price is very reasonable. Menu is extremely easy to understand as I just learned so far “Choy Suey means Beansprout” unline other restaurants the staff can’t tell me that whenever I asked what is that. Clean, friendly and super helpful staffs. Thank you for serving my family a really good meals. Will definitely come back and support for this restaurant. Good work and please keep it up. We know everyone struggled in the Covid time; but you guys went through that and I believe when you guys put hearts into cooking food, it would help you guys stand out and grow business really fast.
