If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I placed an order, with one of the rudest people I've ever spoken to on the phone, and the total came to around $85 dollars. I was told cash only at least three times and that was fine. When I was adding up the cost it was coming out to more than $10 more than what I expected. I called back, to double check the cost, she raises her voice at me and tells me to cancel the order. I tried to say I was just checking the prices and I still wanted the food but after trying to talk to her I realized this wasn't going to happen. I was hoping to find a new place for local Chinese but I'll be looking elsewhere.
The lady answering the phone kind of threw me... "HELLO WHAT YOU WANT?!"... I asked twice if I had reached Far East Chinese Food but she kept repeating "WHAT YOU WANT"-- I didn't even know if I had called the right number. Kind of abrupt. Cash only was a tad inconvenient as well, I wish I had known that. The food was subpar compared to the other Chinese restaurants in the area. Don't think I'll order from here again.
I've been going here for over 25 years. I'm glad they reopened after Covid. They have awesome food. Definitely a hole in the wall place, there's no sit down. Take out only.Parking spacePlenty of parkingParking optionsFree parking lot
Know what you want, ignore the deteriorating sign, ignore the decor, and you will enjoy the food. Depending on who is taking the order niceties may be a little off. I have never seen insects or droppings and the food is always good. But sometimes stingy on the meat. I'm not a regular but I've been going for years. It's also very affordable. Single meal is $6 at lunch and $7 after. I'll take this over chain fast food any day.
Just tried this place for the first time. Wasn't expecting much, but the rule with most Chinese places is that if it looks like a dump they probably put a lot of effort into the food instead. That definitely stands true here. We ordered the house fried rice and chicken balls and both are pretty fantastic. The chicken balls looked a little light, but were very crispy and cooked through. My wife, who is a chef, suggested they probably added rice flour to the batter. All I know is that her claim was 'these are the most chickeny chicken balls I've ever had'. This is definitely a neighborhood secret and I'll be coming back here more often.
The food was ok, could have been a little more tasty, prices ok.Food: 3/5
The portions of protein in dishes has reduced, very little meat and shrimp in Cantonese Chow, Moo Goo more vegetables then chicken, spring rolls very small, all dishes are very bland.
We periodically get food here twice a year. The food is usually pretty good, and contrary to many reviews, the staff aren't rude, we've never been yelled at before. The General Tao is saucy bliss, and I mean it!! We usually get 2. Overall, it's a dive but very good!!
Always amazing food. I am so glad they were able to open up again. Worth supporting this take out Chinese restaurant!!
Short review: The best 'Canadian style' Chinese food I've tasted and for very little money. An absolute gem. For better or worse, I've been trying all the Chinese places that will deliver to me. I won't lie, I was nervous about this one. They don't have a proper website with a menu and the person that took my order didn't seem interested in details like my full address or how I was going to pay. Regardless, the order went through and just twenty minutes later quite possibly a record my food arrived. That's when my skepticism went away. The food was incredible! Their Shanghai noodles were cooked perfectly and weren't the slightest bit greasy a problem I encounter in most places and their General Tso's chicken was the best I have ever tasted. The chicken was lightly battered, so lightly in fact I wasn't sure at first if it was battered, and like the noodles, not a hit of grease. Better yet, rather than a generic sauce of corn starch and red dye, it was smothered in the most subtly delicious sauce I have ever had. There was a hint of heat and it was the perfect consistency. I'm basically ruined for eating General Tso's chicken anywhere else. Everything else was great too. I don't get it. A small restaurant on an quiet intersection in the middle of Etobicoke is serving up some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. Who would have thought? I am so impressed. Next time I'm driving over to check it out in person and thank them for tonight's dinner. I can't wait to try everything else on the menu.
