Maharajah East Indian Restaurant

We had heard so much about this restaurant that this time during our visit to Calgary we had to try the food here and we were not disappointed. The food at Maharajah restaurant is exceptional!!The menu is extensive, you get to chose from number of different food items. We ordered paneer tikka, fish, kabobs, and malai kofta with garlic naan. All the items we ordered were very tasty and well prepared especially Malai kofta. The quality and quantity, both were great. Staff was very polite and friendly while talking to the customers. We highly recommend this place.

One of the best Indian food in Calgary. The restaurant is located next to Calgary Tower. The ambiance is good and staff is very courteous. I had tried vegetarian food and really love the mix of the same. The food is very nice. You will enjoy Dal Makni and butter naan. So if you are in Calgary do visit this place.

I always ordered the lunch/dinner special and I was always happy with the portion size for the price, the meal includes two curries, rice & naan, but today I wanted to try something different and I ordered kofta. I got a box of sauce with three small pieces of kofta for the same price as the special. And the sauce doesn’t even taste that much different from butter chicken sauce. I am very disappointed.

An unassuming takeout only joint, but surpassed expectations! For my first time I just grabbed the lunch special and chose the Lamb Curry and Butter Chicken. The meal came with rice, one plain Naan, and0l a piece of Tandoori Chicken. WOW everything was delicious! The lamb was tender and sauce was flavorful. The butter chicken may be my new favorite in the city! Rich sauce and the chicken was obviously marinated before being added. The Naan could have been cooked a little longer to get that little char, but still was great.

Everything about maharajah is amazing. Their customer service, their food and all the options makes for an enjoyable experience. The owner is incredibly kind and sometimes gives me a free samosa or drink along with my order. This place is a must!!!!!

We eat here regularly, usually the food is great. Every now and then there is a change of chef and it’s not as good maybe a temp chef, because it tends to return to its usual standard a couple of weeks later

This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Calgary. Been there couple of times. Food is amazing. Wonderful staff. Lot of options in the menu. Our fav spot for Indian food .

Simply the best, time and again. We always order extra to have for leftovers. Timely, courteous, and of course the food is fantastic. I can order early and set a time for delivery which they always meet.

I've had a lot of Indian food and I can say that nearly every place I've tried has a little bit of a different take on each "authentic" dish. This location southwest Discovery Ridge Calgary is take-out only, but the hostess who took my order was very nice and sweet enough to let me eat at their small waiting table inside. I was really hungry! She was very nice, had a beautiful smile and was very, very polite. I heard her take many orders over the phone while I waited and she was kind and patient to everyone. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Chicken Korma with two orders of garlic naan which was fantastic! I am here on vacation from the states where diverse food is a regular thing, especially Indian and Asian foods. I recommend this place to anyone and wish Indian restaurants in the states were cheaper because this place has very reasonable prices. A+ food & A+ service! I will be visiting again for lunch today.

This is what $120 worth of food looks like. Rice not even fully cooked. I called and a girl told me that it is because it was ordered through skip. I want to be offended but I am too speechless to be offended
