I’ve been a patient of Dr.Matthew for quite a few years now… a year ago I called to make an appointment and been informed that he had moved clinics, but I had never been informed and the staff was unaware as to where he moved. I had to search all over to find the new office and it was a miserable experience trying to get a phone appointment to ask for one form signed..whatever I brushed it off. Today I called the clinic to book a basic appointment, which I already felt vulnerable about. The medical office assistant made me feel as she was trying to rush and get me off the phone as soon as possible. When I was asked the nature of the visit I was a bit vague until I could move to a private area to be more specific, she literally sighed. When trying to chose a date I simply asked which time he worked until in the afternoon so I could adjust accordingly to my schedule as I commute from an hour awaypretty common right? I was given such sarcastic rude answers and zero information or guidance in his office hours. As a medical office assistant myself, I would simply lose my job if I had spoken to a patient that way. I’m appalled that someone who works in the medical field booking appointments etc. would be so rude to a patient who simply needs to visit her family doctor. At the end of the day, this is not a direct reflection on Dr.Matthew himself, but the staff makes it incredibly hard to call and book myself an appointment.

My G.P. referred me to Dr. Hughes for some specialized tests. Confirmation/etc of the appointment with reception was an arduous process it's a tough process to even get reception on the phone thanks to the phone-tree. My appointment with Dr. Hughes was fabulous. She's a great doctor that's thorough and listens to her patients. I can't say enough good things about her. However, follow-up tests referred by Dr. Hughes at the hospital are done by her reception and that's where the nightmare of trying to get the reception on the phone and when finally reached, that's where the horrors of dealing with the phone-tree and her receptionist begins, again. Receptionist/phone-tree: 1/10 Dr. Hughes: 10/10

Dr Samarkkody dropped me at my lowest, I had been in pain with my back and left hip for years. Absolute excruciating daily pain. I can't walk my dog anymore and cooking for my family is almost impossible. I asked for an MRI, I feel there is something wrong with my left hip. My sciatic feels pinched and I think I have a bulging disc which does not show up on Xrays. Some days I just want to die! She refused to schedule me an MRI. I know I have Osteoarthritis but, the pain in my hip is so bad. All I wanted was some answers and she refused!

Its not often that I spend the energy to write a bad review however this case warrants it. I would NOT recommend Dr. Diana Samarakkody - she is not a Doctor that you can trust to support you thought your most difficult times. I was begging for her support through an extremely emotional time and instead of trying to understand me she fire me because I was unable to control my emotions - at no time did I swear to her or at her but I did over and over again beg her to listen to me and the fact that I was a person in need and her response was to fired me.

This was my doctors office I’ve been going to for over 10 years, I will no longer put up with the rude counter staff who never have a smile on their faces. If you don’t like your job then quit ? Don’t be rude to patients looking for help. I’m honestly disgusted with all of your attitudes. If it was the other way around would you want to be treated this way? No. Also it is almost impossible to reach this clinic over the telephone to make an appointment. And when arriving in person I got yelled at over the counter when I asked if I could book an appointment the rude lady said “THERE ARE NO WALK IN’s. Then I asked politely, well could I book one? And she repeated herself once more saying THERE ARE NO WALK IN’s. As if I didn’t hear her the first time… They then say you can’t if you don’t have a family doctor”- thing is I did have a family doctor at this location but he has moved to Kelowna. He also wasn’t the best doctor around as he has prescribed me wrong medications that have given me drug induced rashes. He goes by the name Dr, Henstock. Furthermore, I have changed clinics and am now getting the proper care I need. I will deter all family and friends from this horrendous clinic.

Wow I thought it was just me. But I'm going to repeat the other reviews. I like my doctor but the receptionist is awful. She talks condescendingly and never seems to be in a happy mood.

No main number to see what doctors are available. Also zero reception/customer service skills. Never have frendly greeting just hello what do you want attitude.

Gone are the days when MOAs actually answered the phone. Standard now is 'this phone does not take messages'. Impossible to get through here and Dr Diana goes through receptionists bi monthly it seems. So miss my retired family doctor.

This clinic has the absolute worst reception my spouse and I have ever encountered. They are rude, sarcastic & they hang up on people. If you're even one minute late they put other people in the room and then your stuck waiting God knows how long. They have zero emotion and look mean and angry all the time. I stopped going to this clinic due to the receptionists who should be fired and replaced with people who like to work or can actually smile at patients and due to a dr comparing me questioning my symptoms to inmates in Jail wanting a second opinion.

From the moment I filled out my pops medical application to be a patient of Dr.Diana Samarakkody, I have had fantastic service. The receptionist was accommodating and super quick to reply to emails and calls. Dr.Diana and her staff have been on the ball with all of the changes to my pops meds and arranging specialists for him. I couldnt be happier with this office. *Its shocking and seems unbelievable to hear the negative reviews, because we have had nothing but the best experience here.
