M & G Mariners Cafe

Really good Pacific Northwest type food; fish and chips, different seafood dishes as well as a selection of the "American food" fair (burgers, meatloaf, other cafe fair). I had the spicy fish and chips, which was really good. I like spicy food, and it wasn't too hot, just a nice cyan pepper flavor. My wife ordered the regular fish and chips, which was fresh and flakey, and she said it was really good too. The chowder is one of the best I've had, bar none. Really I've been to much more expensive restaurants, but none could could beat the chowder they had here. As with almost all the restaurants here it's the New England style (whites chowder) and not Manhattan style (red chowder). But really, it one of the best I've ever had. They had a really good selection of homemade pies as well, which I wouldn't pass up. Overall the restaurant was quiet, and the service was great, and the food was really very good. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Mariners Cafe to anyone who's in the area.

A great, seat yourself, down home atmosphere, very friendly, and clean restaurant! Lots of choices and plates piled high...Great All You Can Eat fish and chips on Friday! This is my kinda place!!!

We went to this restaurant yesterday. The place was not that clean, the food was not warm at all, and the guy that sat at the next table had the worst body odor possible. We will never return!

I would have preferred fresh local clam strips. Other fresh fish is good with friendly service.
