It's always a pleasure to grab some refreshments with friends/coworkers after a long day so we stopped in at Lucullus Bakery in Downtown Markham. It was a nice looking place and busier than I expected. They had lots of displays but their selection was quite depleted. Most of the trays/displays were empty but we managed to get a few items - Deep Fried Curry Beef Bun, BBQ Pork bun, and an Egg Tart. Some tea completed our light meal. These snacks hit all the right spots. It was also a nice relaxing environment to unwind.
Bright & clean HK bakery at Downtown Markham. Very nice vibes and pretty decors. Buns & drinks are little pricey. We haven’t tried anything today but will come again.
I really enjoyed my HK milk tea and egg tart. It was soo delicious. It was a bit pricey though, but what isnt these days. The ambience is nice and service was quick!!
Love their freshly baked buns & pastries paired with lemon tea! Bright & spacious elegant café with fresh from the oven Hong Kong breads, buns and drinks!! Plenty of parking!!
I have been Lucullus Bakers many times, a store at Chalmers Rd and the one located in Toronto Premium Outlet. The store in downtown markham is the worst one, infamous for the bad service. I ordered two coffees today but the lady making coffee said I only ordered one set of meal so she gave me one coffee and ignored my second coffee. I also asked if I can get some hot water, and I have my bottle with me. The lady said I need to pay $0.5 to get one. When I made payment, Lucullus only accept cash. How dare a store in Markham can only accept cash? Is the store want to evade tax? I won't go to this store again.
I am forced to give this location 1 star when it does NOT deserve any star ratings! I was near this location and definitely craved some pastries as I have thoroughly enjoyed the coconut bear claw from a different location Halton Hills. I was excited along with my family. When it was time to pay, the cashier, Yan, was extremely rude. We wanted to dine in and not take it to go. Decided to pack the whole pastries we bought. It is common sense to ask if the customer wants to dine or take it to go. I said to her that you didn't ask us if wanted it for here or not, you just packed our stuff. She brought one plate for our 3 coconut bear claw to warm up and that's how we all ate it, it just one plate. No remorse of her actions. There is no manager at site where one can express the experience. I have attempted to contact management through the website and Instagram with zero response. I am am disappointed. There's a consistency with the Yan's behaviour anmanagement are not doing anything about it. I have ZERO comments. I hate writing bad reviews but I couldn't resist with this because she was just so rude.
One of the most beautiful Chinese bakery stores sells Chinese buns, donuts and cakes in Unionville. They are having the best egg tart so far for me. It is a must-try item when you visit this store.
The milk tea was tasty, they got good selection of breads and deserts, and the self service experience was fun. The store was cute and great for evening hanging out. They are busy at lunchtime.
Always go there and get their steamed rice LOL. Almost tried all of them and I like them all especially this Chicken A La King. The price is so cheap. Limited quantity but it’s good enough for a quick lunch. Bakery is a little bit expensive, only tried their matcha cookies once and it was pretty good.
Great concept of cafe meeting an Chinese/HK bakery. I personally haven’t had any of their roasted coffee, but their milk tea is good, as is their bakery items! Only caveat is they’re slightly more expensive compared to more traditional Chinese bakeries, but the high quality makes it worth the premium
