I highly recommend their cake section. The cake I ordered here was very well designed. Thanks to Maral, who was very helpful throughout all the steps, from choosing the model to the beautiful and artistic decoration she created on the cake, paying close attention to every detail.

I actually shop at this Loblaws a lot. Very convenient, near my house, parking usually easy, staff mostly helpful and friendly. However they are always struggling with stocking their shelves. Not sure if it is staff issue or if they intend to keep their inventory low. However today I was not able to find first three items I looked for not rare items, just coconut yogurt, fairlife milk, fresh cut melons, It was frustrating so I did not continue to look for the rest, and later I was able to find all at Loblaws Lonsdale, so obviously it was not general supply issue but store based. Another annoying change they made is $100 limit on card tapping. I understand they are making this for security but if Walmart, Superstore, other Loblaws can manage payments with higher tapping limits I am sure park royal can do that as well. Considering this neighbourhood’s income levels I assume several shoppers exceed $100 limit and need to look for their cards instead of tapping their phones. And honestly this is not a cheap grocery store so it is very easy to pass $100. I hope they will do some improvements so I can see this store as one stop shopping where I can find most the items on my list and just pay and go after my morning run without looking for my card.nnUpdate: Not much changed. Adding pictures from today, no fresh produce. Fully empty berry aisle, no parsley, cilantro, kale, zucchini, english cucumber or tomatoes. Even during pandemic it didn’t get this bad at any store. And now none of the other stores have such a problem. This is so frustrating. How could a brand like Loblaws have such supplier issues??? Another waste of my time.
If you ever shop here, do your best to avoid the cashier called Lenore. This person is the worst cashier I have met to date. They're not capable of multitasking, they're not able to listen to instructions, she cuts you off mid-sentence to tell you something that you're about to tell her to clarify, and then she also harasses me that I'm on my phone while trying to do a cash out, and that's because I'm actually in instacart driver I need to be on my phone at the same time, preparing the next order you have to move forward, I'm able to multitask and this person obviously doesn't understand that. They have no respect for people's organization she doesn't pay attention to my groceries, she mixed up my groceries we had to redo items she's just blundering through sentences and trying to rush but there's no focus. This person should not be in customer service at all, I don't know because English is a second or third language for this person, but this should not be happening. This person should not be on the hill, you're not going to get service because they don't understand English correctly. So if you want to any other country and didn't speak their language if you didn't speak French clearly properly they wouldn't let you do front of house service, and this is the reason why, because they make major mistakes and you have to redo things. So I highly urge people to stay away from this person because they are not able to do your purchases correctly based on this experience. They're stubborn, they don't listen, and they harass you for doing exactly what you're supposed to be doing, and you have to tell them multiple times the same thing. When the owner reads this please, remove this person from this position Comet or fire them they have no business being a customer service. This has spoiled my experience coming here as an instacart Shopper and as a local who shops here. I hate self-checkout, but the customer service is getting worse and worse from most cashiers nowadays and it's forcing us to use self-checkout. As an immigrant myself it upsets me, it upsets me it's a bad example of hiring people for a position that they're not qualified to do. And if anyone else reads this just save yourself the heartache and go straight to self-checkout.
The bakery unit is nice, but the pastry unit does NOT have good cakes although being fancy in appearance!! I have tried quite a few of their pastries so far; non were appealing!! I purchased Mocha cake today, no one liked it in the family and I have to thrash it. I also purchased a slice of carrot cake that was NOT good. I purchased two Eclaires that were acceptable, nothing special though!! If you want nice pastries go to Save On Foods!
