The council’s mission is to end hunger in Livingston County by strengthening the current food system, and by developing new and innovative ways to get food to the people who need it.

A collaborative effort with the goal of a great start for every child in Livingston County: safe, healthy and eager to succeed in school and in life.

The council’s mission is to promote literacy in Livingston County and be a resource for local volunteers and agencies.

This one-day community service blitz sends volunteer teams all over the county working on a variety of projects, including yard work and home repair for seniors and service agencies, community garden work, food and personal care drives, stuffing and distributing backpacks. In 2013, over 107 projects were run with 140 organizations participating -- logging over 4,550 volunteer hours. In addition, St. Joseph Mercy Livingston conducted a Community Health Fair offering fresh produce, life-saving health screenings and more. Next event: Aug. 20, 2014.
