They were incredibly helpful! Had a great experience here. They made an exception for me and gave me the sample containers I needed urgently even tho I didn't have an appointment. Such a favor for us and it is appreciated
Went to drop off my baby’s sample and they turned me away after standing in line for 20 minutes. The lady said that they didn’t do that there ? That they would have to do the entire process. Not sure what that meant as I had dropped samples before. Told me to go down the street to Hastings location and all they did was put a label on it. Not sure what difficult process the previous lab was talking about. All this over a urine sample. Honestly they just didn’t want to do it and had me running around with my baby for no reason. If people can’t drop off samples anymore it should be on their website or the door so people don’t waste their time.
I have never felt so violated and unsafe at a life labs my entire life. After my experience I would please caution DO NOT bring you or your loved ones to this life lab location. The staff is very disrespectful and entirely incompetent. I experienced 2 lady staff belittling and disrespecting people who would walk into the lab late or with out an appointment. I wouldn't trust them with important tests or take/ handle anyone's blood. They need to be re trained or have their health care license revoked. I most indefinitely will not be returning to this location. Health and safety should be life labs #1 priority.
I visited this lab on December 2022. I had a bad experience about disinfection for blood collection because lab technician, man, used cotton with no alcohol. It is terrible action and requires qualification again.
Scheduled my appointment at 9:50 am online. I was there at 9:40 am and I got my blood test at 11:20 am. It takes 1 hour and 30 minutes. What is the purpose of booking appointment? So disappointed with staff and the process UNPROFESSIONAL from beginning to the end.
LifeLabs should not be allowed to operate with the monopoly they have in the province. Interacting with them for anything is excruciatingly painful. I came by this afternoon with a requisition to pickup a specimen collection kit as we suspect our daughter as UTI. I was told that they can’t help me whatsoever without an appointment. I clarified that all I needed was a collection cup. I was told I need to make an appointment and come back once I have one which is likely days away. What’s the point? The infection will likely progress to the point where we will need to be at a hospital or Urgent Care by the time I can even get the kit. No logic whatsoever - the attendant just now lost an opportunity to potentially avoid an ER visit. For your own sake, either be extremely plan-full and schedule an appointment before you need one... obviously not realistic OR be prepared to wait hours on the phone to book an appointment and then days to do your test and just hope you don’t get more ill while waiting.
I had an appointment booked today for 10:35am. I arrived around 10:15 to check in. I emailed a copy of my requisitions beforehand so that it would be ready. They were moving very quickly and the ladies at the front were extremely sweet. I sat down to wait in the waiting area and there was another lady that arrived at 10am for her 1110am appointment. She got up 4 separate times to ask when it’s her turn and each time she was rude and confrontational with the employees. They handled it well each time and told her they’re going as fast as they can and her appointment isn’t for a while and there is lots of people with appointments before her. I did have to wait 15 mins after my appointment to get into the room but that’s completely understandable as majority of the patients were elderly and took a while to get in and out of the room. I’d like to just say for everyone going to any location that has appointments- YOU WILL BE WAITING. Plan in advance knowing that you most likely won’t be seen EXACTLY at your appointment time! They’re going as fast as they can! 5 stars for the ladies working there!! Great job :
I stood in the wait line for several minutes before being acknowledged despite there only being 1 person in the waiting area. The woman at reception was then polite, took my paperwork, and directed me to a room. The phlebotomist was curt, cold, and left as soon as she told me to hold pressure on the bandage for a minute before getting up. As I was getting up and picking up my things a man tried to walk into my small cubby saying they had directed him to. It's a good thing I don't have a problem with blood collections or that poor man would have been the one to discover me. I think I'll wait in line at a different lab before I go back there. The speed was not worth the treatment.
Hi Management, Suggested to have better improvement in sanitary and staff training in schedule arrangement. Thanks.
I have been to many Life Labs before, and I think this one is bar far the rudest one. The lady working at the front was short with me when I asked if I’m to wait until I’m called how am I supposed to know? Update: I come to this only for the distance. I swear this time I went, she was nice to everyone else but me. Almost felt like she was singling me out because I was Asian. There’s also a new girl, she is very loud and equally rude. The guy who took my blood has always been nice though.
