Sounds like a dump!! I Googled "Playboy Club Great Gorge" and it took me here!!! Back in 1972 I was here with my family for a photography convention and the place was 5 star +. Sad to see this happen, another childhood memory disappear. :(

When I was a kid my aunt used to take us all to legends as a ''staycation". We loved me, the pool was great, and being the oldest I used to jump in the jacuzzi. Downstairs was a locker room with showers, etc. When there was power outages we would stay at Legends and enjoyed the shopping and restaurants they had. When I was 16 I dated a boy whose parents hada timeshare there, so we would go all the time. This was the time when they started the reno. Gorgeous tanning beds, updated weight room and sauna rooms. I really thought it was going places. Not anymore. The place has become a tenement for welfare and emergency housing. There was a murder and more recently a fire where they found a dead man on the 5th floor who wasn't even in the fire. WTF is that?!! I don't even think they take reservations now. I know people still live there, mostly employees of the neighboring Crystal Springs. All of the international exchange employees that come from various countries in their summer breaks are housed here, 12 to a room, literally. I know there is new signage at the entrance, so maybe something will become of the place. All it is now is a eyesore and a local haunt. We used to walk right in through a broken side door and go swimming, shower, etc.. noone ever said boo. Makes you wonder why anyone would want to work there, let alone stay there. Go for the more expensive hotels.We really do have a gorgeous town.

Don't go to Legends, there was once a murder there. Plus there could be a remake of horror movies in some spots of the building. This place is overgrown and poorly maintained. Please, don't stay at this hotel.
