Stop by and check out Rustic Ridge Resort, under new ownership. We are located in the rolling hills of Vernon County just 8 miles west of Hillsboro on Hwy 33 and Burr Salem Rd. Within minutes of the resort you can be canoeing or kayaking on the Kickapoo River, biking one of the state or local trails, hiking at Wildcat State Park or the Kickapoo Valley Reserve. If you prefer shopping take a peaceful drive through Amish country filled with furniture shops, bakeries, antique stores or rug and quilt shops. What a fun place! Pack up the family or bring some friends and head here in the summer because it is awesome! The food was amazing French fries are a MUST and the prime rib is to die for The time spent on the beach was great and we loved hanging out at the tiki bar! Service was A+ and we really enjoyed getting to relax. We will be back!
A wonderfully characteristic cabin exterior overlooking Lake Petenwell. We enjoyed potato 'kegs' apps which were very good. We ordered the bluegill and broiled cod dinners. The bluegill was good, and the broiled cod was spot on. We had the fortunate opportunity to talk with the young owners, and they are very enthusiastic! Our server has been making a new dessert each week this summer, and her raspberry filled cake with white chocolate frosting was excellent! Hurry in before they close for the winter!
We only went to the beach which is always clean and has great views and sunsets. We have not eaten here since they reopened. We are a little apprehensive since the food and service has gone downhill over the years
Spent Memorial Day weekend at the resort. We rented one of their cabins. Family of 5 with 2 dogs. The cabin was super nice and clean. And plenty of space for everyone. We ate prime rib on Saturday at the restaurant. The kids had chicken strips and they loved it. The ice cream was incredible too! The food was phenomenal!!! Staff was awesome. The cabin was super close to the huge awesome beautiful beach. This place is a must go! I felt like I should have paid double for the accommodations. Great value! Beautiful area! Best vacation our family has ever been on! The tiki bar is stellar!! Don’t miss out in this gem of a resort! Already booking our next trip back very soon.

Great food with great views and excellent service.
Right across the street from the beach. Porter potties in the back behind the bar. Minnow shots if you like that kind of thing. Love the long island ice teas! Hand poured and really only need 1. Great bar with live music. 5 stars for a beach bar
AMAZING experience. Great ownership, family warm atmosphere, and a gorgeous view. Not to mention the food is outstanding. If I could give 10 stars I would. I will be back MANY times and look forward to it.
We had a great afternoon at Rustic Ridge Resort!!! We had a late lunch with our large group and the food and the service were great!!! After we left my daughter realized that she left her small stuffed animal on the table... when we went back and of course, the table was cleared... my daughter was heartbroken... we told the staff and they went above and beyond to locate the missing stuffed animal! I can’t say how much this meant to my daughter and me! They are extremely accommodating and very friendly and the food was great!!! We will be back!!!!
I was very disappointed. My family and I have eaten there in the past and I loved the supper club atmosphere and they had an excellent salad bar. We went last night for the fish fry and discovered the Carlton was sold and converted to a bar and grill. Horrible atmosphere to eat in now.
