Lee Valley offers the kind of old world customer service that’s becoming increasingly rare today. The staff are knowledgeable, patient, and truly stand behind their products with a solid 90-day return policy. While prices may not always beat Amazon, they’re usually within the same ballpark, and the excellent in-store service easily makes up for it. They also run frequent promotions that help keep prices competitive. A great store that still values their customers.
If you’re tired of the cheap, disposable tools you find at the big-box stores, do yourself a favor and come here. Lee Valley is one of the few places left that actually cares about quality. I’ve picked up everything from specialized woodworking planes to garden shears here, and the craftsmanship is always top-notch. The staff actually knows what they’re talking about - you can tell they use these tools themselves. It’s organized, professional, and they stand behind what they sell. It’s not the cheapest place in town, but you’re paying for gear that will likely outlast you. Rare to find this level of integrity in retail anymore.
If you’re serious about your craft, you don't buy your tools at a big-box hardware store. You come here. I’ve been using Veritas planes and saws for years, and Lee Valley is the only place that stocks them with this level of expertise. I stopped by the King Street location yesterday to pick up some specialized cabinet hardware and a new set of Japanese chisels. The staff actually know the difference between steel grades and won't try to sell you junk you don't need. The store is organized like a workshop - clean, logical & stocked with high-caliber equipment. It’s not the cheapest, but you’re paying for tools that will outlast you. Five stars for keeping the standard high.
Was looking to replace tracks on my dresser. Looked on line and couldn't find them. Walked into Lee valley and showed the lady at the counter a sample. Right away she went to the back and brought back three sets for me. Cost was shockingly inexpensive. Great service.
