Le Mitoyen

Great food, great service and great night. The ambience is cozy and you really feel at home in this little house full of history. We had table near the fireplace and it definitely added to the experience. Everything was good, the fish cakes are a must try. They also have a stout beer ice cream. I mean what else do you want. PROS - The food ! - The desserts, especially the chocolate mousse and the chocolate squares; - The ambiance including the fireplace; - The service and the staff. CONS - Not an impressive list of Whisky nor Cognac; - The tables in the smaller rooms feels impersonal.

Simply amazing. Situated in a lovely detached house in a quite neighborhood of Laval, Le Mitoyen serves unpretentious French classics with fresh and local ingredients. Every dish we ordered was excellent, but the foie gras, scallops and lambs were highlights of the nights. Service was very warm and attentive. Do allow time to dine here since everything was cooked fresh and it can get very busy.

We were a group of 4 to celebrate friend birthday, my first experience, and I was amazed with the quality of the foods, excellent services, and warm ambient. We are looking for the next group party and for sure that we'll recommend it to our friends. Parking: There is a lot of parking lot and hear from friends that they have beautiful patio tables.

I have passed by this little restaurant about a thousand times, and never went in. We decided to made a reservation for this past Saturday evening. Best Decision we have made in a long time. The Service , Ambiance, and last but not least, The Food was Excellent. They have a great wine selection. And a sommelier who knows his craft. If you have a desire to visit a really Great Dining Out experience in Laval , this should be your choice. The veal was done to perfection, the Beet Salad was to die for. Service was very good. The desert was very good. Creme Brulée For my wife, and au chocolat desert for myself The only thing lacking ? The coffee was tepid, not hot,and kind of bland. surprised Please note this is a high quality restaurant, And the prices reflect that.

The level of service and attention to detail is exceptional without being pretentious. The staff are genuine, warm and very welcoming. The food was excellent. Thank you very much.

I visited this restaurant on 2 different occasions. Food and service were great both times. Cozy restaurant, which is a house with different rooms, each has 4-5 tables to seat patrons. Decor is different and overall a nice place for a date or a special occasion. Not recommended to bring kids. It’s on the pricier side so bring your wallet!

This restaurant deserves more than 5 stars. Small but very quaint. The service is excellent, the waiters are always making sure you enjoy the experience from start to finish. The filet mignon steak is to die for. I think i can say that it's my favorite restaurant.

From 2003 to 2008 I was travelling to Montreal every three weeks and staying in Laval. I first tried their tasting menu in I believe 2006 and was absolutely blown away. I have also enjoyed their alla carte and table d’hôte items which are fantastic. I am a physicist and food chemist who has published in the area and continue to run research in the area and since that first tasting have been back several times. Since 2008 I’ve have the privilege to have travelled the globe and have eaten in many of the world’s best restaurants. To date, however, I have never found a restaurant that produces absolutely perfectly balanced dishes, tasting menus and wine pairings. The chefs and sommelier are absolutely on point and in my opinion out perform many of the Michelin star restaurants I’ve eaten at. The dishes are balanced and delicious, the wines are extraordinary, the service is absolutely top notch and the atmosphere perfect. Also the only tasting menu I have experienced where one is really satisfied and full ! by its conclusion. This year alone I have intentionally driven from Toronto to Montreal 1200 km round trip twice with a colleague just to experience Le Mitoyen. Anyone in the area I.e., Montreal should consider making the trip as I would be hard pressed to believe anyone who enjoys these experiences will be disappointed. To many more years and experience to Le Mitoyen!

We were a group of 8 that all opted for the 5 service "degustation" menu with wine pairing except one of the guests. The fact that if was a Tuesday likely contributed to the extra personalized service. The dishes rolled out with perfect interval. Very flavourful and nice assortment of local foods. Quaint terrace in front of the restaurant looking onto the square which had a public piano playing. Provided an extra unexpected ambience to the whole dining experience.
