Le Maitre D is a personal, neighborhood style restaurant situated in the town of Penetanguishene, a picturesque bilingual community at the southern tip of beautiful Georgian Bay. The 45 seat restaurant serves dinner Wednesday to Sunday. The menu selection consists of regional cuisines of France and Canada. It features traditional French-Canadian recipes with a Metis influence – two cultures that are part of the fibre of Huronia. The menu includes a wide range of items to suit all tastes. We truly believe in the quality of each dish. From preparing all of our sauces, dressings and dips in house, to preparing each dish individually as it is ordered, the result are absolutely delicious homemade dishes. Had a delightful evening meal at Le Maitre D" on 3rd August 2017. We were enticed by the idea of a rare French Cuisine menu. The Restaurant is delightful and the food mouth-wateringly gorgeous. The Service was so caring and elegant. We thoroughly enjoyed Rack of Lamb and dessert crepes. Worth the two hour drive for a special event. Merci..

My wife and I just had Sunday dinner at Le Maitre D, after attending Kingswharf Theatre. What a great meal. Dave, the owner, served us, as they had just opened for dinner. He was great..accommodating and made some awesome suggestions for dinner, and the wine. The lamb was excellent as well as the chicken crepes. The app, smoked trout in a couple of cheeses, was super. Nothing but good things to say, and will tell our friends who travel to Penetanguishene to ensure they do dinner or lunch here...we will return for sure. Thanks Dave..it was really nice. Next time perhaps dessert...no room today !!

The food here is absolutely delicious and the staff is very friendly. The portions seemed small at first but were very filling. They also have a custom menu for those attending plays at the local theatre to ensure you make it to the show on time. I highly recommend this restaurant

Food is superior. Service is excellent. Fine dining in a small community is a tough challenge, Le Maitre lives up to it.

We were well looked after! Beautifully cooked fish and the best asparagus I have tasted.  Complimented with a recommended Riesling.
