Wow, such a friendly place! Glad we made an impromptu visit. It's clean, good vibes, tasty food, awesome service from the owner Ken (which was a pleasure to meet him) and his lovely daughter Katie. My friend and I ordered the halibut and fries. The serving was big enough to fill us both and still take the leftover fries to go! We opted to have our fish pan seared as opposed to battered, and it was true awesomeness; fresh and cooked to perfection. When you are traveling through penetanguishene, or the surrounding areas, and you're looking for a good bite, slip into Ken's. It's not just fish and chips either. You will be pleased with how enticing their menu is and the bang you get for your buck!

A group of us went in for breakfast and the server accidentally dumped a tray of coffees, teas and waters all over my husband and myself when she walked up behind him. She made a comment about it being his fault. We all hoped she was joking. We moved to a different table to allow for cleaning. She never came back to us again. Our food was delivered by the cook, I think, and we received no other service. We were charged fully for the bill and there wasn't any kind of apology at all. They just acted like nothing happened. Our entire group has decided to never go back.

We had clams and pan fried halibut. Both were done very well. The sweet potato fries were amazing. But the 5 stars are for the service and homey feel that Captain Ken and his Crew provided. The waitress and cook teamed up to offer my daughter a kids size plate of spaghetti that wasn't on the menu. A special thanks to Ken for the freezie for my daughter.

Food is good and fast, the place is nice and clean, service is the problem for me. In the past two visits, basic things haven't been taken care of: cream and sugar for coffee, refills for coffee, extra napkins, asking if I would like anything else when the meal is done, straw for my little one. I'm always understanding to wait staff, I know things can get busy, but it wasn't. Ken's has been one of my favorite places, but my last two visits will be my last for a while, I hope management can correct the wait staff problem soon.

I've been twice, I've had a chicken burger and a hamburger, both were excellent. Polite, friendly and prompt service. There are two sides to sit, one is more of a pub while the other is more diner like. They are both nice it just depends on what you're looking for. I would definitely recommend captain Ken's.
