I hope the new owners don't run this place down. My family and I have been going here for many years, and it has always been great. I ordered three, two piece fish and chip dinners to go, $57!! and when I got home, the batter on all the fish fell right off from being soaked in grease and too soggy. grease ate away the bottom of the takeout containers too The fries are very different now. As thick as a finger, undercooked, soggy and tasteless. Needless to say we all got sore stomachs, and threw everything in the garbage. We all felt cheated with the price and the quality. Very sad. I hope this place doesn't close. It's been around for many years.
Poor service. Was treated like nothing. The waitress waited great on the other customers. Oh and did I mention they forgot to give us cutlery. We had to wait for 10 minutes to get our cutlery. The food was not too bad.... But the fact the bacon bits on the potato skins were like rocks and the lettuce was from a bag... Not appealing. The service at McDonald's is better!
Only rating 1 star because 0 isn't an option. Food served did not match menu description. Loaded Baked Potato soup used bacon that was entirely fat and unedible, as well as entrees and appetizers for cold. Managers excuses were unacceptable and unprofessional. Lazy Loon used to be a great place for great food, but has changed drastically since the new owners took over. Would not recommend this restaurant to anybody, and will definitely not be back.
The Lazy Loon is one of my mother's favourite restaurants, so we planned a surprised party for her birthday there this year. What surprised ME was the following: 1 I could plan and arrange all the details for the event via Facebook, which is a HUGE bonus for someone who's long given up using her phone as a phone. I was dealing with Laura, whose customer service and support was over the top, even when I had to make modifications to my requests. 2 Our party was given the loft area, which was very nice and private, and a perfect area for a group our size. 3 Our wait staff was phenomenally accommodating, even though we recognize they had to keep walking up and down stairs to cater to us. Our main server Trisha, I believe was very friendly, accommodating and wanted to make sure the experience was a positive one for everyone. We did not have to wait very long for our food, which was wonderful considering we were a big group. 4 Prices were reasonable. 5 The food was very tasty and the portions quite generous. Thanks to The Lazy Loon for making this a very memorable occasion for my mother; the birthday girl, and for the rest of my family. bw
I was looking forward to visiting this restaurant; I normally go here during the summer for ice cream, but hadn't been for a sit down meal. Upon arrival, the restaurant is clean and seems to be fairly busy so I assumed I was going to enjoy my visit. I ordered the lasagna and my dinner guest ordered the chicken parmesan. According to the menu, the lasagna is made with spinach, beef and ricotta cheese in marina sauce. After my first bite, I noticed it was very bland and watery. I picked through the layers and found A. the noodles were overcooked and mush and B. there was no layer of ricotta and nothing between the layers except for marina sauce. If I were this establishment, I'd be completely embarrassed that we serve this slop. And to top it off, my dinner guests chicken was still pink and wet under the breading. After putting my dish off to the side to politely hint that I did not want the rest of my meal, the server asked and I explained that I did not like it. The floor 'manager' comes over to my table demanding why I didn't like my meal and I explained to her the issues I found with my meal. After explaining the issue, refusing their "free desert" and the 10 dollar voucher, the 'manager' is enraged and tests me by commenting how they've sold 6...yes, six whole lasagnas tonight and none have come back. And the fact that they sell lasagna often. I explain I personally did not enjoy it and in my opinion the food was disgusting. The fact that the manager even tried to argue with me over this issue is enough to drive me from coming back. Overall, nice atmosphere but scary food. I wouldn't be surprised if most encounter food poisoning from this establishment. Just stick with the ice cream!
Good food horrible service. Had to wait 10 minutes to get cutlery. Waitress favoring other customers. The place is nothing compared to how it used your be when I was here a few years back. I won't be back
Food here is okay, definitely could use some improvement. Friendly staff but they always seem to push the dessert, which is also just okay. Sometimes it's a bit dratfy, so bring a sweater.
Yummy comfort food plus in a cozy cottage atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Ice cream bar at the side entrance for summeror after-meal treats. Fine for the kids as well.
Great service, good food, reasonable prices and very generous servings! You never leave here hungry.
