Laramie KOA Journey

Story

In its early days, Laramie was such a rip-roaring railroad town that it made good sense to build the Wyoming Territorial Prison here. Things have quieted down, as you'll see when you check into this relaxed campground with beautiful mountain views just to the west of I-80. Come to relax and enjoy KOA's recreation and TV hall and the gift and snack shop. Check out the bike rentals for a great ride around the city and on the peaceful greenbelt. Or stop in for a little shopping and dining in historic downtown Laramie. Area attractions include: the Lincoln Monument, American Heritage Center, University of Wyoming, Historic Ivinson Mansion, Ames Monument and much more. KOA's staff can't wait to meet you! During the off-season, please call for availability of water hookups.

I stayed in Oct, so water at sites was off...makes sense. I just didn't like the location by I80 and a truck stop. Too noisy. Otherwise, it was pleasant.

It is only a block from our first granddaughter. 4 stars-when we got there our reserved spot was taken. BUT James help us with a new spot, which worked out good. We are limited to the site because of our dogs. We need an end site. Tight sites-If you take any other site your picnic table or slides could be over your neighbors hook-ups.

Arrived an hour after closing, the lady inside opened the door and helped me to check in. Super friendly!!! Site was easy to pull into, and although near the Interstate 80, the noise was not that bad. Dog walk park was accomidating and clean. Shovel, rake, poop bags and a barrell provided. Once we got up in the am and I took our dog for a walk, I saw that the grounds we're well kept, lots of trees and such easy access on and off the Interstate. Gas station with a store on the corner, for easy gas up. I see that many have given negative feedback, but I did not observe or experience any of that. Towing a travel trailer. A nice stop 😁

Overall a decent park. Everything is very clean. The staff are friendly. The sites are basic. No campfires due to a city ordinance. The park is sandwiched between some trailer parks and the highway. Seems very safe. For the quality and location the park is kind of expensive.

It is a rather bare roadside basic KOA near the interstate located next door to a ran down mobile home park. Ok for an overnight stop, but not much else. I have stayed at nicer places that cost half as much, though other options around Laramie with hookups seem to be limited.
