Cheyenne KOA Journey

About

Cheyenne KOA campground in Cheyenne Wyoming. Home of the worlds' largest rodeo & Frontier Days. Offering level pull through sites for rv's & motorhomes plus camping cabins & tent sites. Located just off Interstate 80 at exit 367 east of I 25.

Story

Settle in at this KOA sprawling across the rolling High Plains on the Front Range of the Rockies. Mosey into Cheyenne, "The Magic City of the Plains," to explore a legendary cow town and Wyoming's capital city. Browse the Frontier Days Old West Museum or stop at Holliday Park to see Old Number 4004, one of the world's largest railroad steam engines. Take a tour of the city and discover Cheyenne's colorful history as a railroad and cowpoke town. "Live the Legend" as Cheyenne celebrates its history with a Western celebration in July that is known as the world's largest outdoor rodeo (the "daddy of 'em all"). Nearby, you can fish at two reservoirs or hike, climb and see the wonderful rock formations in Medicine Bow National Forest. Then happily return to your KOA retreat for a swim, mini golf and a blissful night under the Western stars.

I live in RV parks for the majority of the year while working. This KOA is a great place to stay. The restrooms and showers are clean and they have done the shower right by having an actual shower stall. The lots are crushed gravel and clean with electric (30/50 amps), water, and some lots have sewer if you need it. The only "issue" I had was that the lots were very plain, no real landscaping or separation between lots, so it looked like you were parked in a parking lot, but thats all cosmetics. Other than that, great place!

We called and they found us a full hook-up site. The park is all gravel. They do have an enclosed doggie walk and put-put course. The pool looked nice but we did not use it. Well maintained park with easy access off I80.

Right off the highway so perfect for passing through. Bathrooms and grounds are really clean. Easy access to Cheyenne and everything you need in town. Staff was really friendly. My only complaint is the grey/black hose connection. Ours was sticking out of the ground pretty high which made it a little difficult because the end connected to the pipe was higher than the end connected to the camper. Looking around they were a bit hit and miss - some high and some low. Spaces are pretty close together. We are small and it wasn't crowded so it wasn't an issue.

Best KOA I have been to. I tent camped and the ground was raked when I got there. The tent sites come with wind breaks, picnic tables, and fire pits. There were private (clean) shower stalls. The staff was wonderful and there was also a camp kitchen that was immaculate with a microwave, sinks, and stoves for cooking.

Clean clean clean. Neat and we'll maintained. Place is small and it's close quaters. Big down side for us in a tent was that I80 was only 200 yards away! And there is a busy set of train tracks to the northeast. Hard to sleep!
