Like their sweet and sour pork, very traditional one and staffs are friendly. The reasons I give 3 stars are 1. there are no traditional plate, bowl or even glass cup when you dine in. All is paper or plastic makes all dishes ready to go. The soup is extremely hot, used plastic bowl with a plastic spoon is not a decent restaurant experience 2. The soup is tasty but very salty. My friend and I have to drink lots of water after going home.
Friendly staff and cozy comfy decor. Food came pretty fast and portions were great. Some of the screws came a bit salty, but waiter reacted very quickly for our next orders to have less salt.
Went to lar's bbq on a Tuesday and servers were nice and we ordered using their app. Skewers came first and our main came after. Portions were a little small for the skewers but main was decent size. Flavours are bold: salty and spicy but that was expected! We do not go to Chinese skewers places often so this was a pleasant experience! Not sure if we would go back again though, regular spice level was a bit much for us.
I never knew there was a great bbq spot that’s close to me! If you’re in Newmarket or uptown, this is the spot to visit if you want delicious skewers and food similar to Chat Bar. The interior is spacious, so there’s lots of room to sit. Everything is done online so you would have to scan the QR code to order. The food comes fairly quickly after submitting your order, and I appreciate that the hot stove to keep the skewers warm actually does it’s job. At Chat Bar, my skewers are still cool even when it’s on the mini stove. Everything tasted fantastic overall, but my complaint would be that I wish the skewers had alittle more spices for more flavour. A must try is the salted egg yolk corn - a combination of sweetness from the corn with the salted egg yolk! I would definitely recommend visiting this spot if you’re looking for delicious skewers and a place to chat without having to go all the way to Markham! IG: Ayenomz
Quiet atmosphere, was not too busy when I went this time, but had been busier in the past. Good quality and variety is fantastic with lots of intense flavour. Service is fast and very good. Highly recommended!Food: 5/5
First time ordering from here. Tried the spicy beef noodle soup, wings, house special fried noodles, eggplant, and Szechuan beef. When we got the order, a couple of the bowls were leaking. It was not fully sealed. The beef soup was very good and actually spicy. The house special noodles was also a hit. We were not a fan of the eggplant or Szechuan beef.
One of the best tasting BBQ places in the GTA. Reasonable price, clean environment and extremely friendly staff. Did not ask for extra tips when picking up and servers were still nice to us after we decided to sit at the patio because there was very few people there. All the meat skewers had good portion, super tender. Eggplant has a good garlic taste, the skin was soft and crispy. Will definitely visit again.
Surprisingly quality BBQ eatery even at this northerly GTA location. Tucked in Newmarket, LAR'S BBQ offers a great variety of BBQ dishes, including skewers, veggies and different meat cuts. Also surprised by the speed the dishes are prepared and brought to the table. Lastly, by virtue of the seamless scan of the menu QR code, you can directly input your order from your phone. Overall, a different culinary experience from your regular eat-outs.
I wish I had found this place sooner!! The service was incredible and the food was delicious. Everything was fresh and so full of flavor, especially if you like spicy food you can opt out for non spicy too! I will definitely be coming back in the near future and I highly recommend this restaurant Service 5/5 Food 5/5 Price range $-$$
I ordered the Lunch Special for $9.99, I was surprised with lots of joy It was a big dish, lots of food and so yummy, I love it and definitely will try another dish of Lunch SpecialFood: 5/5
