Lapointe Fish

Been in here a few times since covid. One of the few places I am able to find arctic char, and it was so damn good! No regrets. They didn't have any squid defrosted but had some in their freezer, so walked off with that too. Look forward to making it later this week. Thanks again! Laura

Thé selection and quality is always good along with service. It is never a problem for the butcher to cut fish as per needed.

My wife and I were looking forward to a great seafood dinner so we ordered many dishes. The calamari were bland. The moules were full of sand and the white wine and garlic sauce was watery and missing the "creme fresh", a was almost butter-less. I had the Pescatore. The seafood and the pasta was precooked and just stirred together with a bit of sauce for few seconds. So it was served cold. The lone scallop was actually still chilled inside when I bit into it. The smelts were smelly and definitely not fresh. The escargot were disappointing. We paid the bill and left unhappy and unfulfilled. We had to go back to the hotel and eat there. :

It's the best place to get fresh, quality fish. Great variety. Super staff, friendly, helpful and accommodating. Top notch service and it's very clean. Thank you!

Great service, fantastic seafood. Always lots of options

I just moved to the Sandy hill area and have been exploring the Byward market from the perspective of a true food market. Byward seems to struggle as a food market vs. Tourist market and I get it. As a new resident to the area I am happy that Lapointe is a solid fish market with a diverse selection, whole fish, a variety of oysters and lots of organic farm raised options! I will continue to visit this place!

highly overpriced and poor quality. DO NOT shop here. You will pay an arm and a leg for seafood that you can get cheaper and fresher elsewhere. Walk down the road to FarmBoy to get it cheaper especially when on sale. Quality of the cuts are poor. I even experienced worms in my salmon and had to throw it away. AVOID!
