Lake Helane State Natural Area

Beautiful, tranquil area. Decent fishing and biking opportunities await. Drive to the area can be bumpy. 4 wheel drive isn't required, but patience is. Some areas of the road may be flooded or narrow with brunch sticking out. Don't drive a vehicle you're worried about getting your paint scratched. There really is not parking available other than pulling off into a grassy area.

This area is completely serene. I would almost call it majestic in a way. We took a car, bad idea. I would recommend a four-wheel drive vehicle if you want to explore around here. I agree with the others, it's bumpy and very rough. The lake is on an even plain with the road which is something I've never seen before. It's definitely beautiful and worth checking out.
