We went snow shoeing on the hiking club trail. Good signage, and far enough from the highway that all we could hear was the wind high up in the trees. Great time!

This is the best national forest in the within 50 miles of butternut wi! The are wolves here and they will eat you so be careful. There are also bears, mountain lions, porcupines, coyote, Bob cats, and hillbillies. There are no deer here, they all got eaten by the wolves and bears and hillbillies.

Today it was beautiful!! My gorgeous bride thought it was a bit cold (-10), so too cold for the elk I guess. Stopped for lunch at Harbor View Pub & Eatery, absolutely fantastic!! Food & service both!!

The Medford Ranger District of the Chequamegon National Forest is the most southern unit in Wisconsin, and so more accessible than the others. Plenty of wild areas to get to and a fantastic 48 mile stretch of the Ice Age Trail
