Recommended! This place is cute and the food is delicious. Went there for dinner- we ordered the bone marrow, steak frites, chicken and a couple desserts. The food was amazing. Cocktails and coffee were also great. The ambience is so cute- we were seated on the patio and it gave us a great view of both their dining room and downtown.
This is a lovely little restaurant tucked above Eleanor & Laurent cafe, however I do have some quibbles. In terms of accessibility, I could see someone with mobility issues having trouble. Walking around to the back of the building, there are obstacles. A wooden platform for what looks like emergency exit stairs, and then a mix of mud and ice with nothing to hang onto. Enter the building and you have to take the stairs to the third floor. Parking in the area is dreadful. La petite seats!! My butt did not fit on the seats very well and it was very uncomfortable for my legs. After being seated, I asked if we could move to one of the available tables with bench seats and I was told no because they had other reservations that day. The table I was inquiring about was seated an hour after us. And sure enough my leg is sore from today. Now onto the good… the food! Pretty well everything our group had was enjoyed. I really loved the gnocchi. I would be willing to return if I could get a seat outside as it’s normal size chairs out there. But with no guarantee and the unwillingness to accommodate, it’s fairly unlikely sadly. 5 stars for the food. Zero stars for accessibility and horrendous chairs not ideal for anyone tall or with generous hips. I still recommend trying it, especially if you are petite because the chairs will be perfect for you lol
Delicious food, knowledgeable servers, and to die for cocktails! Hands down BEST martini in the city. Three of the appetizers we wanted to order were out of stock, and our server gave us very wonderful suggestions of other plates we could try. Loved everything! Need to come back for the mussels and oysters when they aren't sold out.
Absolutely magnificent French food in an intimate, brasserie-style setting. We had snails, bouillabaisse, chicken, gnocchi, frites and tartare pictured. The wine list is extensive, moderately priced, and very high quality. I was charmed by the setting, the food, and the excellent service. I will surely be back soon. If you want an authentic French food experience in Edmonton I cannot recommend this enough! A quick note that the restaurant is up several flights of stairs and would not be accessible to wheelchair users and/or people with mobility issues. I also would not recommend this for children, but for adults in search of a delicious meal— reserve right away.
Good French food, but did not leave me wanting more or longing to come back. Decent covered patio on the extension of the main dining room. The dining room really did transport me back to walking into a Parisian cafe along with the glassware of the beautiful etched glasses that were ordered France I asked as I wanted to get them for myself. Ordered 60% of the menu and the seared foie gras was my favorite that was well balanced with sweet and tart to pair with the decadence of liver. Be prepared for a lot of toast as a good amount of dishes are served with it.
I had a wonderful experience! Parking is shared with sugar bowl in the back of the building and the entrance is also at the back of the building, door is painted with huge lettering: "La Petite Iza", can't miss it once you see it. Don't go up the brown/reddish metal stairs like I did, it leads up to the patio which is closed for the winter. Once you enter the doors, there are stairs, go all the way to the top so make sure you are able to walk up a couple flights. Didn't see any elevators around. Very easy to make reservations online, might have been one or two table available for walkin dining but it was quite busy throughout the night. Beautiful murals on the ceiling and nice vibe, it can get loud when it's busy with everyone chatting. And it's candle lit once the sun goes down. Great wine menu, would definitely recommend getting something! Got the bottle of chardonnay and it was . The menu is great for sharing. There are lots of appetizers to choose from, the classic pate is there, seafood oysters, mussels, escargot, and bone marrow. All the ones I ordered came with bread. Portions are not huge but very enjoyable so must order more than one! My favorite was the leek and asparagus salad, the dressing for that was superb. They also had a smoked salmon tartar that wasn't on the menu, seasonal maybe? Was very well balanced. Also got the bone marrow and cheese platter. I regret having a small stomach and not ordering more main entree dishes to try! I got the gnocchi with escargot, gnocchi was fluffy and had tasty sauce. This would be a place I would recommend to go to to have a nice glass of wine and share a couple dishes with friends, not somewhere to fill up to the brim full but some where to munch, chat, wine, and have a fancy dine.
Wow! Wha a great cute little place we have here in Edmonton. I believe this is my new favorite place. So many great options to pick from. I ended up with French onion soup to start which was amazing and I got their special for the night which was a halibut. And let me tell you, the halibut is a Michelin star worthy. Bravo!
Excellent food and drink. Went with a group and the favorite dishes were the bone marrow, French onion soup and steak tartare. All generous portions with fair pricing. Desserts and drinks were solid. An appy, main and drink will be about $50-60. Server was pleasant, made sure our orders were correct. Busy even on a rainy Sunday - would have loved to sit out on the patio if there was nicer weather. It is heated and covered if there is rain.
We went for dinner in September and it was amazing! It was easy to make reservations and you can choose if you want to be seated inside or the heated rooftop highly recommend the heated rooftop as it has a great view of downtown Edmonton Great great great atmosphere and even better food. Everything was so delicious and service was amazing!
My first time at this french roof top restaurant. Service was amazing! Food was executed really well. I wish the escargot was more flavourful but otherwise very decent.
