La Perle Restaurant and Bar

Shrinkflation in full effect here! I've ordered Chinese Food from La Perle Restaurant approx every 6 weeks for the past 2 plus years. It was always my family's go to take out. The last time I ordered from here was 2 months ago. In reading the reviews it looks like ownership has changed, and I can definitely see the difference. Portions are now HALF the size they were when I last ordered making this every expensive take-out. Before I would spend $75 and feed a family of 6 with some left overs for the next day. Today I spent the same amount $75, got the same dishes I usually get, and and could only feed 3.5 people. It was pathetic! I've attached photos so one can see the difference in their old containers and new ones. It's deceiving at first glace as their new containers have a see through lid, but the food it only filled half way up and not all the way to the top. Their old containers were filled 3/4. When I was finished eating I filled their new container with water, and poured it into their old container... I was able to fill two of their new containers into one of the old one and that was only going half way up the old one, which means they are serving less than half the amount of food I used to get for the same price! The food tasted similar to before, but I did notice a difference in the sweet and sour pork more fatty and hard to chew, and the deep fried shrimp was overcooked and burnt. I was told it would be ready in 20 mins, and it was ready in 40mins. I used to recommend this restaurant to everybody, but will no longer do so, and I will be seeking out a new place for Chinese Food. Not worth the money. You lost a loyal regular customer. Best of luck!

So disappointing! We have to throw out most of the food. Goowy taste. Not enough shrimp. But superbe costumer service.Service: 3/5

We had a order of 20 individual meals and extra side orders for our nightshift crew last night. Everyone was very happy and full. The food was great! The portions were awesome! Everything was hot and fresh! We will be back for another nightshift meal in the future! Some of the best Chinese we have had in a while. Staff were very friendly

The food was very bland. None/or same taste/flavour for all the dishes No sauce in any dishes. Hardly any protein in the dishes. Cold. Chowmein was burned. Vegetables were not fresh. Were hoping to have a great family day meal. Very disappointed. Will not order again.

I've been working at La Perle for 4.5 years and both ownerships are amazing. The former had their clientele for over 40 years and many are disappointed that she's retired. We miss them too! However, the new ownership is just as amazing! As we go through some changes there are bound to be a few bumps. The menus are Chinese and Pub food. There's something for everyone! We now have live bands that have replaced karaoke, Dart night on Thursdays, Trivia every day and sports games on the big screen. Also, daily food and drink specials. Change can be hard for some people, but we see this as refreshing and the feedback has been incredible. I love the changes and the vision. We hope you'll join us! Vegetarian options: Delicious! Kid-friendliness: Restaurant is kid friendly. Parking: Tons of free parking! Wheelchair accessibility: Accommodating for accessibility.

I had low expectations, and they still managed to disappoint. I ordered the dinner for one #3, and they brought me #1 instead. When my food arrived my chicken fried rice was cold. Not even slightly warm. My “ Szechuan beef“ was completely drowned in some syrup. And the beef and greens had very little of either. I was the only one in there, that should have been enough of a clue, but I felt like giving them a chance anyway. It all boils down to caring about the quality of food you serve. These people clearly don’t care.

Excellent food! Been ordering here for two years now. I wouldn't order the "dinners" but i find certain items to be excellent-the shrimp with diced cashew nuts, cantonese chow mien, mushroom rice & ginger beef are my go to items that I think are exemplary! Vegetarian options: great veggie stirfry, rice mixes etc. Parking: Ample parking -huge lot for these business always a few stalls open

It was my go to for inceadible chinese food ownership changed and so did the quality. I can tell the oil is old, the flavours are not as great. I really enjoyed the food before, i hope they can get it back. I will try again but only one more time as the cost will prohibit multiple attempts if the flavour and freshness returns then the cost is not an issue as it was awesome a few months ago

Trash. As if it was not bad enough to make us wait an extra 20 minutes for a pick up order that was phoned in an hour before. The food was absolutely sickening. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. It’s a shame so many great restaurants died out due to covid and meth houses like this remained.

As long time karaoke guests at La Perle, we were disappointed to find out that the new owners have cancelled Karaoke indefinitely. That was the only reason many of the Saturday guests came and now we see no reason to go. The staff are amazing and will now lose all of those customer and tips as well. On a positive note, they're doing "DJ" night, so if you're into overplayed pop that's obnoxiously loud in an empty bar, it's your place to go. * The food is still good and the kitchen has always been great about making a vegetarian fried rice to suit our diet *
