Today was the first time I’ve ever been to this place, and we waited an hour and a half to get our food which was really frustrating. I don’t think that has ever happened to me in my life Apparently it was because today was their first time serving breakfast so there was a lot of new things going on in the kitchen. They gave us free drinks and fries to make up for it so I’m happy about that. Giving them the benefit of the doubt about the kitchen, my overall experience was good. Wow!! First time ordering from Gros Luxe, far from my last. The food arrived hot, exactly as ordered. I can’t say enough of how good this food is! The value for price is amazing and the portions are large. You get exactly what you ordered! I also appreciate that they have a wide variety of vegetarian options. Very veggie friendly and LGBTQ+ friendly

Nothing special...my burger was simple but taste was alright. I'm paying for a 20$ burger...the patty should be juicy and have flavour. This patty was probably out of a freezer. The Mac and cheese was ok but pogos were not homemade like other places I've been too....so not that impressed. Atmosphere was nice.  Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan/vegetarian options  Parking: Locations on street available

Food was good, served in a timely manner. Service seemed to be overwhelmed when we got closer to 7h pm on a Friday night. Only the terrasse was filled approx 20 customers. It started really good, but ended with lots of waiting time. At one point we were not served water anymore and getting our leftovers took forever. Good place for drinks tho if you plan to hang out for a while.

The food is decent nothing to complain about there.  What really needs to be improved is the service as well as the wait time for the food. It’s comfort food, it really should not take 1hr plus for us to receive the order when it’s barely full.  Servers needs to be better trained at what tables they are serving. We received foods from other table and so did the other tables.

Amazing comfort food. The Mac n cheese, poutine grilled cheese & pulled pork sliders are delicious. So affordable too!

Given the high quality of Montreal's food scene, L'Gros Luxe NDG is disappointing at best.  I want to preface this review by saying our service, and the overall atmosphere overall, was good. We were served quickly, and they did make accommodations for our dietary requirements, which is always appreciated. So no start deducted for that experience, as I feel it's unfair to focus exclusively on this, especially given what you're there for; the food, of course!  When the "cauliflower" wings arrived, I really was trying to figure out what they were honestly. The sauce given for them is a homemade wafu sriracha, but the wings themselves did not taste anything like wings, or remain anywhere close to what a wing would taste like. No BBQ sauce, and the pairing of the wafu and the wings was a bit weird. In addition, the wing tasted like deep fried bread, and cauliflower, which seem unimaginative and quite tasteless.  My fiancé got the poutine, and was happy with it, as per her thumbs up. The shitake fried chicken burger I got however seemed slightly burnt, and again, seemed totally tasteless. Aside from a small helping of mayo, the burger was slightly disappointing. The entire menu seems like pub food, which in hindsight is totally fine if you are quite inebriated, but if you are looking for a festival of flavours, this is not the place. The fries on the side seemed slightly stale, and without any toppings even being offered, was a bit rough.  *Correction*: my fiancé wanted to highlight that her drink was good, and my Heineken 0.0% was good as well, so I am bringing my review which was previously at a 2 star, to a three star.  It was nice eating here, but given the high quality of Montreal cuisine, and the fact that we spent 75$ for two people to eat what honestly seemed like airport food, it would be an understatement to assume that we were underwhelmed. The food was unimaginative, tasteless, and the overall compositions and pairings of the dishes really made no sense whatsoever. Hard pass.

I ordered the vegetarian variety box along with the cookie dough dessert and greatly enjoyed the food and the service. Everything was well cooked and tasty! I wish the vegan mac'n'cheese was a bit more creamy and thick but overall great experience.  My favorites were the shiitake wings and the dessert. : Cheers  Vegan options +++

Not only was the guy on the phone SUPER rude, I received my order and they gave me no joke, 5 onion rings with my burger. I paid 3$ extra to add onion rings to my plate instead of fries, so a 21$ meal, and that’s what I got… Definitely never ordering from here again.

I used to like this restaurant but this is the first time i am ordering from this branch and this has been one of the most horrible food experiences. It was very embarrassing that i ordered this at a party and most of the food was literally burned check out the photos and order from this restaurant if you want to get high on carbon dioxide!
